The impact on FF from the Bengals/Bills game

What are you guys doing in your leagues?

Honestly, the only solution I can come up with is giving the team that was winning the "W" while splitting the pot (assuming the game isn't played).

Unless of course the game was essentially over, and the remaining players wouldn't have made a difference.

I'm seeing a lot of nonsensical solutions like counting the Bengals/Bills players week 18 points for week 17, splitting the pot based on % chance the win (projected points), etc.

It's unfortunate, and there are no perfect solutions, but I think this is the most logical/fair way to handle it.

I've played in a bunch of leagues and the latest one went to week 16 (back on the old 17 week schedule).
And you play in leagues that don't play past Week 15? The second to last week of the season is pretty much considered Championship weekend across the entire community.

Okay, Week 16 from 2020 and earlier would make sense. Just your original post made it sound like currently scheduling games past Week 15 or 16 was a bad idea when there are 18 weeks. All good though if what you really meant was only past Week 16 if the year is 2020 or earlier.

I still think of stuff on the old format.

Old age and all.

I still remember 94' when they had a 18 week schedule, and gave every team 2 bye weeks. I'm shocked they don't do that now because it would give the NFL viewers.

I won a 10 team league last week. Thank goodness we don't have this mess to deal with.

Cincy and Buffalo have heavy fantasy rosters.

That’s what we are doing in 1 of my dynasty leagues, just going to use week 18 points instead of Monday’s, 1st place $600. In my other dynasty league, 1st and 2nd just agreed to split pot, pretty even going into Monday’s game, both teams had a QB and WR to go. Team leading by 5 points going into that game is this year’s champion. We play on MFL and that site has already finalized the week with no points at all for Cinn/Buff players.

Congrats. Yeah I'm glad in the two leagues I commish none of the outcomes were affected even though every team had players from the game.

I just find that solution nonsensical.

Week 18 is totally different matchups. The only way it makes sense to give the Bengals/Bills players points if they resume the game at some point.

Anything else is just trying way too hard to fix something that can't be fixed.

It's unfortunate, and it's not "fair", but this is part of the game. Coming up with more unfair ways to try to fix it doesn't make sense.

League sites seem to mostly be deciding to just award zero points to all players in the game. One site I know of is planning to actually just award whatever points were in the box score Monday night. Most of these sites are saying "but your league can change the points and do whatever you want". It's mass hysteria.

Nice.

When guys are saying they are giving their money back, are they talking about the entire season?

Goodness, I would just split the pot for 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th if the game was affected.

I have Higgins and Bass and am winning the championship game 451.28 to 333.20 and he has/had Josh Allen and Stephon Diggs left.

It’s pretty safe to say I’m going to win the whole thing and the guy currently in second place is fine with whatever we decide and suggested just paying me out (it’s a wta league) but I don’t want to win it that way.

I think I’m going to wait to see what happens and possibly just use stats from the final week to finalize the scores.
