Tampa won the worst division in football. The Cowboys aren't great but they are better than Tampa at this point. Dallas 23-17

On paper, DAL should win, and it shouldn't be all that close, mostly because of the DAL defense vs. a pretty anemic TB offense. From a probability POV, as long as DAL doesn't turn the ball over, and plays to their average offensively and defensively, they should beat TB fairly convincingly.

However;

Dak is the ultimate evolution of Carr/Cousins, and as such is susceptible to panicking, and doing something epically stupid with the ball. Also, the DAL defense has kind of disappeared in recent weeks (I have no idea why, maybe someone that follows them at all can comment), so that's a real concern. If they can't get to Brady, if their secondary can't cover the few weapons that TB has, then DAL can easily lose this game.

But this is 45-year-old Brady, and as we know, if you can get pressure on him consistently, he's going to fold up his tent. TB doesn't have much of a running game to help Brady out, and consequently, TB has been relegated to about 18.5 points/game. For those that care, DAL has scored about 27pts/game.

It should be DAL going away, but I have faith in Dak's ability to find a way to shit himself when it matters most. A couple of times. The only question is can TB/TB muster enough offense to make it count?

It might be worthwhile to check who's reffing this game. But if I had to bet, I'd take DAL to squeak it out by a point or two.

Teams with losing records have done surprisingly well in their first home playoff game, plus they have Brady. Hard to bet against the Dallas defense but you can't be surprised if Tampa wins.

Agreed, though I don't actually hate the Cowboys. To be honest, they're not too bad. Jerry Jones is a little crazy and their fans are dipshits, but their players are likeable enough. I actually really like Tony Pollard and Micah Parsons. Zeke, Dak, CeeDee, Trevon Diggs and Zack Martin don't annoy me either.

A Cowboys win would be infinitely better than seeing Tom Brady advance in the playoffs.

Plus, I think having three teams from the same division still alive in the NFC playoffs is exactly the kind of chaos I'm looking for as a neutral observer.

Sure seems like it. Got a feeling your Bungles are gonna get Cheffers’d! The league loves the Damar stuff, and they get to send it to a neutral field. There’s ALWAYS a reason why Carl ****ing Cheffers is reffing certain games. Looks like your run ends on Sunday.

Jones is one of the easiest to hate and simultaneously easiest to like guys in the league.

Dude was a straight up wildcatter. He was literally out there chasing oil strikes and hit a couple. He was a college jock who wanted to buy a football team and took a pretty massive risk (at the time) on a team that was hemorrhaging money. Then turned the damn thing 180 degrees virtually overnight.

Then he made '**** you' money and proceeded to...well...tell everyone **** you.

Because why not? he's not some stooge of the shield. He's not a family money trust fund kid who's never taken risks. He's always had as much/more skin in the game than any other owner in the sport. And he puts his money where his mouth is - good for him.

I can't bring myself to dislike ol' Jerrah.

He's a pretty polarizing figure for some reason.

I don't know enough about the history to pass judgment but he doesn't bother me.

I think my favorite thing about Jerry Jones is this picture of him hamming it up while kneeling with his players:

That's gold, Jerry!

I'm a Cowboys fan tonight. When presented with two evils, I choose the lesser one.

Tom is a disease. I despise watching him play football still. It has to be stopped. This Bucs team is a complete piece of shit, and they don't deserve to be in the playoffs, yet here we are.

If you're all that interested in him, read the first 1/3 or so of "Boys will be Boys" by Jeff Pearlman.

It really does a nice job of laying out his back story, his purchase of the cowboys and the eventual turnaround.

He's a really fascinating guy.
