It's called regression to the mean. And it's not just those two things. They've also relied on other teams missed FGs, have fluke fumbles in their favor, opponent collapse and so on.

Example: do you think KC blows a 3-score lead against them again? Or more likely that was a 1-in-10, 1-in-whatever thing, and they just so happened to use up that luck on the first try.

How anyone can look at their playoff run last year and not see how fluky that was is beyond me. And this year started the same, first by facing a scrub backup QB, and even then they still should've lost. That was not a repeatable, skill-based outcome.

I guess people here hate Allen because he was (wrongly) propped up next to Mahomes. But he's a significantly better and more dynamic overall player than Burrow. And that's pretty much all that matters in the long term. Bills will lose players and keep on ticking; anyone who thinks the Bengals are here to stay for a decade, like the way KC has been and will be... well, they won't be. They'll ebb and flow like the Falcons and Chargers and other in-between teams over the years with recent great-but-not-HIM QBs.
