Potential Trade targets

Since the Chiefs have 11 picks and some possible holes they could fill. The WR free agent market looks weak not sure they will spend big on a DE.

Some names that come to mind: Jerry Hughes. Fits the mold of a player a at a position Veach has made moves for in the past (Ogbah, Ingram)

Brandon Cooks- I read that if the Texans trade him post June 1st the cap hit goes down significantly. He would work well in this offense IMO

Laviska Shenault Jr.- Was a guy I know the board talked about last off season. He was moved to Carolina for peanuts. They are rebuilding and it looks like he has 1 year left on his deal.

What do ya'll got?

I wouldn't mind seeing if the Giants want to part with Golladay for a low pick. Only if they pick up part of his salary though.

For the record, we had a whole offseason to make a move on Smith and I'm not even sure we contacted him.

I'm guessing Smith ends up cut as the Vikes are 23 mil over the cap and he saves them 12 mil with a cut.

I'd wait that one out.

Sometimes a team is just searching for draft picks and sometimes a player just doesn't end up a good fit but a lot of times they need the cap space and other teams buy the rights instead of trying to be the top bidder in the free-for-all that is free agency. So, expecting a guy is cut is something I could say about pretty much every single guy you could put on this list right now.

The one thing I'd say maybe about Smith is that why waste draft capital on a 31-year-old. I think that's legit a concern

If the Chiefs could get him with a conditional low round pick, maybe WR Denzel Mims. He's 25 years old, 6-3, 207, and runs a 4.38 in the 40, and a 2020 2nd round pick of the Jets.

He was good at Baylor with (Not counting freshman year) 37 games, 186 catches, 2,925 yards, and 28 TDs.

His Jets career has not been kind. Injuries, dropped catches, and only 15 starts, 30 games, in 3 seasons in New York. I'm sure one issue has been New York Jets QB play.

Could Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs fix him? Maybe worth a low-cost trade attempt.

bleacherreport.com projects a 5th round 2023 draft pick to get Denzel Mims in a trade.

Aiyuk, on the other hand, would be worth a look if SF would consider trading him. He’s in the last year of his contract.
