Not a bad strategy, considering that there's not that much reason for our defense to have the greatest run-stuffing D when we have the lead so often, and teams usually have to pass to keep/catch up.
Also bolsters the idea that Veach is indeed hunting for some real weapons for the offense.

The Chiefs were 8th best in rush yards given up per game, only 108 yards. That's because they were 4th in rushing attempts against. The three teams with fewer attempts against have the best yards per rush given up, Tenn, Balt and SF, excellent run defenses. Chiefs were middle of the pack in yards per rush.
This shows teams don't run against the Chiefs because the Chiefs offense pressures them to throw. Hence it's smart to under resource the DT position.
