This is the part of fandom that i don't understand. Up until the final of the Wisconsin FF, he had 4 FF appearances, 2 NC appearances, 1 natty and a shitload of wins. That was outstanding and i enjoyed every minute of it. That's been followed by 8 seasons of 2 regional final appearances, 1 round of 16 appearance, 2 second round bowouts, 1 first round bowout and missing the tourney completely (plus Covid).

My question is, for you personally, at what point do you say the guy just doesn't have what it takes anymore to actually challenge for another natty?

My other question is, did you see what Matt Jones said about the disconnect in the locker room this year and what do you think about it?

Realistically, if he doesn't make it to the Elite 8 anytime over the next 2 years I'd expect the powers that be encourage him to retire/step aside.

Yes. I think Matt Jones has a narrative, though, and Cal doesn't go on his show. There's probably some merit to his claims but they might be exaggerated.
