Figured we could get one of these going as well.

Who's some guys we like, would like to see in KC?

I wouldn't give up the 5th year option for a 4th round pick, let alone a 4th round pick AND the risk that we get 'Junior Siavii'd' like we did when we traded back and lost out on Olshanski only to be left drafting old Junior - RIP, Spithood.

I hate trading out of the first round for the same reasons I hate the 'it's pick 31 - basically a 2nd round pick...' stuff. That's just not accurate. There are obvious benefits to being the last pick of the 1st over the first pick of the 2nd.
Exactly. Watch how many teams exercise that 5th year option every year. That extra year is huge, especially if you spent the pick on a talented player. Looking at Sneed, Creed, Bolton, Gay etc....it would have been nice had KC been able to exercise that option on one or all of them. Not saying KC did anything wrong in the Brown Jr trade, but just thinking some.

I'll play devil's advocate here.

A year ago the Chiefs, reasonably or not, still faced the specter of having Mahomes go down as Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson or a slew of other guys who one and doned the thing.

Now that risk is gone. We've passed that off ramp and if you're Andy, Veach or Mahomes, is there any more historical cache to 3 than there is to 2? I mean...not really? The next big target, when talking legacy, is 4 IMO.

So last year you're in a position where you risk making a 3rd harder to get a 2nd, because I do think there's a massive jump in historical cache at 2. But I don't think you risk making 4 harder to get to 3.

Additionally, a year ago we just didn't know as much as we know now. Can PM adapt his style to deal with merely solid weapons around him. Do we actually have the tools to build a championship caliber defense and/or OL around him.

I think a year later the goals are different and I think we simply know more now than we knew then. Oh, and as much as I like Aiyuk, I think Brown's simply a better player.

For all we know they love Josh Downs and he's circled for 31, it's just a wild guess at this point.

I think it’s somewhere in the middle. I think they’re gonna get OBJ or Hopkins. James Palmer said today that they are still in on those guys. I personally believe it to be Hopkins.

But yes I still maintain that the offense is gonna be ran in a way that is somewhat similar to how Andy ran the Eagles back in the Brian Westbrook days.

This is who I hope KC gets between the two if they indeed go that route.

Here’s the latest. Tl;dr the FA WR market sucks ass this year and teams with an even decent WR are trying to get more than they should but nobody is biting

This is why I love Veach so much. He knows it's a position of nee, but won't overpay for average talent.

That's great in theory, yet if the season starts and not much is done and Toney gets hurt and we're running out MVS and Skyy Moore there is going to be complaining.

Except I am not saying he won’t address the position. He just won’t overpay for it.

People might wanna get comfortable with the idea that it's Justin Watson and Josh Downs to fix the position....

I think Downs is a good fit here so that works.

Don’t care. Veach hasn’t made a big mistake or miss since…Clyde?

Dude has just crushed it out of the park the last 2 years. The draft, OBJ situation, good value FA signings.

The guy has become the best GM in the league with his recent success.

If Pat plays at the level he did this year, they'll be fine. That's a tall ask, but shit, maybe that's just the way it will be.

I have no earthly idea why anyone would expect a regression at this stage.

He's adjusted to the NFL's adjustments to him.

What else is there?

Is he going to forget how to read a defense or something?

If KC keeps him upright, this is just what he is. He's the best to ever play. He's Michael Jordan.

There will be no regression, not for a decade, as long as you keep him healthy.

I'm far more concerned about Kelce regressing due to age.
