Relievers aren't the issue, they have guys at AAA that are MLB capable relievers. The issue is starters and honestly more guys are going to be dealt.

On top of that I dunno why they haven't claimed Pache.

And the A's traded Pache to the Phillies for some scrub...

I know Pache can't hit a lick but I dunno why in Kaufman you wouldn't be in on a guy who grades as a ++ defender in center, he's good enough he could be a 3 war player hitting 150.

The industry-pushing Rays employ a similar guy in CF with Jose Siri and Pache is younger.

Look, if you aren't going to spend money - and sherman has shown no desire to do so - then you have to win around the margins. It's gross, I get it, but what i've seen is a change in coaching mentality, something I hope spurs success, but what I haven't seen is any change in the front office mentality. This was a very Dayton Moore offseason - underwhelming starter, reclamation reliever...4A spring training fodder and then the predictable washed OFer with a glove.

In and of itself, Lovelady is not a tragedy, but its a symptom of something not great...
