That's the Nebraska kid, right?
I think you could call him Hyatt light and not be too far off. What I'd have to answer before I got excited about him was what happened at LSU? Hyatt was a 1-year wonder but he was behind Tillman and Velus Jones who I think are high quality prospects/players in their own right in previous years. But Palmer was behind pretty much trash at LSU last season and did nothing then transferred out. Was that competition level? Was there something in the system that kept him from producing? Does that something exist in KC as well? I'm nowhere close to calling him a 2nd rounder but in the 4th you could have something there if you haven't gone WR already.

God I hate you sometimes.
No wonder you want to trade our 1st rounder away every year - you were just gonna spend it on dumb stuff anyway...

Right now Flowers is just a better, more complete player. Entirely plausible Hyatt becomes a better, or at least more productive player. But Flowers is the safer pick. |

Spags loves a bad ass Safety. I listed it like 4th as an option, DE, DL, OT and MAYBE even a S if the board fell that way.
The point being the level of WR at 31 isnt much different than the next few rounds of WRs. I do not see them using 31 on a WR. |

OK, maybe they will can we not focus on the least likely possibility that I listed.
The point is if you can get a guy like Trey Palmer in round 2 or 3 who is probably as good as a guy you can get at 31 but is definitely FASTER, then you dont go WR at 31. |

Trey Palmer is not even in the same stratosphere as Zay Flowers.

D1 kid out of Cal. Ran a 4.4 at 6'1 and 190 lbs. ELITE short area quickness; absolutely murdered the 3-cone (6.6) with a good 10 yard split. Demonstrated good hands and then the mesurements supported it. The explosion scores on his broad/vertical jump said there was a ton of juice in his legs as he excelled in both areas. Everything about him as a prospect said "this is a good football player and should go in the 3rd round". He ended up going in the 5th and bounced around for a few years before fading away. Sometimes teams just see shit we don't.

I believe it is.
I say this as a guy that wants a first round WR every year. I want a dominant, hopefully over 6 foot fast guy that catches everything near him for Patrick!! I just dont see it happening this year. None of the consensus top 4-5 blow me away, they all have question marks. Outside of Johnston they are all small and not super fast. Sure they could turn out to be good, you dont have to be over 6 foot. We probably wont get a chance at one of these guys anyways. After that, say 5-25 of the WRs are all pretty darn good and also have a real chance of being serious contributors. Which again, is why I dont see us going WR in round 1. |
