1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").

I'd love to see who mocked both guys in their 1st rnd...it may exist, I never saw it. Two very good players, but in the lowest leverage positions. If they feel those were gaping holes, then ok, but I think they could have receieved MUCH more compensation. I'll be curious to see what the consensus post draft grades say.

Swift is Jamaal Charles explosive but he definitely has been way too injury prone. It basically sounded like he was dealing with nagging injuries all last year and was never healthy. He obliterated the Eagles defense in the season opener last year and was never the same again.

Definitely more on board with Van Ness being 1st rounder but still was surprised he was so high. Campbell is just a big reach. Both are very good players but I was just very surprised they went that high after watching Iowa all year.

I can't name a single pick on day one that was a "WTF were they thinking?" type of selection. Some picks were unexpected but none were absolute head-scratchers. I can't recall a previous draft where this was the case.

So far, most of the grades say the Lions did the worst by reaching the most at positions that aren’t super valuable.

It doesn't matter who "mocked them"

Look at the LB class, it's Jack Campbell and Drew Sanders, Sanders is a weird hybrid rush/off ball player.

Campbell has elite measurables, if you needed a MLB he was literally the only guy that was going to be ready to play day 1.

I would be anything that Jack Campbell would not have gone by Dallas and Buffalo, Gibbs was also always a 1st round pick, they just went higher than expected.

I said forever and ever there was a good possibility of Jack Campbell going round 1.

My GB friend is mad they took Van Kickass.

He's a mean dude but a bit stiff. McDonald is going to be better, IMO.

They absolutely did that, and I don't think it's a smart play.

Their thinking though is basically hey Gibbs is Alvin Kamara and will set off our already top 5 offense and we need a MLB really really bad and Campbell is the only guy who can start now and he has elite traits to be a pro bowl player.

They also think the cliffs at those positions are steep if they don't take them the guy they'll get instead will be nowhere near as good where positions like DE and CB are much much deeper, they're basically playing the odds that they can get 4 starters instead of 2 starters and 2 questions this way.

It's risky because you're shitting on positional value.

No idea if this has been posted but apparently the Chiefs called Dallas cause the Chiefs wanted Mazi Smith...shocking Dallas declined when that's who they wanted.
