*****2023 NFL DRAFT THREAD - NO SPOILERS*****

Version 2023 - PATRICK MAHOMES & THE HUNT FOR THE MIDDLE FINGER RING

Let's ****ing do this.

Quote:
Rules for once the draft begins:
  1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").
  2. Don't be a dick.
Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny. I'll also be starting player threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. These separate threads will be made as soon as the news breaks, outside of this thread. I will link the threads below. Pure knee-jerk gold to reference in the future.

Here are our picks:

Round 1, #31: Felix Anudike-Uzomah
Round 2, #55: Rashee Rice
Round 3, #92: Wanya Morris
Round 4, #119: Chamarri Conner
Round 5, #166: BJ Thompson
Round 6, #194: Keondre Coburn
Round 7, #250: Nic Jones

Here is a list of the prospects the Chiefs have shown interest in this year.

Going back several years, but the St. Louis Cardinals drafted Steve Little in the first round and John Lee in the second (different years). Both were gigantic busts.

hopefully we get some more of them year 1 starting badass late round picks again!

I fear the last 3 drafts are practically too good to keep going at such a high hit rate though and we are "due" but that's just being pessimistic. I don't have a ****ing clue about any of these players outside of their highlight tapes

I picked all of these guys in those rounds in multiple mocks. I read their reports and watched a little film.

I feel like we got some real good players here, at about where they were expected to go.

Why has Ringo fallen so far? It must suck to go from a mid 2nd round pick to a 4th round pick, assuming he is picked in the 4th round.

Guys I’m an idiot generally, but completely dumbfounded when it comes to if we actually have good picks.

So my question to you guys that take the time, how has the draft panned out so far for the chiefs? It seems decent so far but I don’t know lol

He's not fluid in his hips, he's stiff. He's also very strong at the point so a smaller receiver could give him problems.

What did we have to give to move up in rounds 2 and 3? Considering they weren't huge jumps did we keep our 4th and 5th?

Won't really know until these guys see live snaps in a real game. But it looks like we got some good players. No steals, no one that's probably going to reset the bar, but solid players. We're pretty sure, anyway. I'd give it a straight up B so far.

Well, as I posted just above, the DE's tended to thin out by mid second, so they got the guy they wanted at 31. In multiple mocks from multiple sites, Uzi was always gone by 40. If you like a guy at 40, just take him at 31 for the 5th year if nothing else. Don't get cute. Solid pick.

There was a big grouping of 2nd-3rd round WR's; they went up and got the guy they wanted from that group rather than take what fell. Rice went about where he tended to in multiple mocks. He's a 'Hopkins' type receiver, with nearly identical measurements. Physical, aggressive, good RAC.

Morris has experience at both OT spots, but played RT mostly. 35" arms, athletic, quick. Definitely starter potential with a little clean-up in his technique.

All three positions of need, all three went at about the right spot, no reaches, the last two they went up and got their guy rather than wait.

I think it's a real solid B+ draft, and that's tough to do picking at the bottom of the round.

Just my .02
