if I'm reading this right, and I like to think that I am, MVS is on this team unless traded. Weirdly, to cut him would cost 10M in dead cap and save less than $1M in cash.

HOWEVER.... A lot of that dead cap is actually a guaranteed salary for the year. If you traded him, the new team would take on his salary, and you're on the hook for the difference, which would save you a little over $9M on the cap.

I don't think it's likely, but trading MVS is absolutely on the table in terms of his contract numbers.
