Yeah, Rutgers doesn't have that reputation either, as I mentioned when Pacheco was drafted. Somehow that was a point of contention at the time as well.

However;

Rutgers is in the Big-10. Which is a higher level of competition than the American. And consequently, produces more NFL level talent, right? I mean, if we compared a list of NFL starting quality players from the Big-10 vs. the American from the last 10 years, I'm just spitballing here, but probably the B10 would have more contestants, yes?

Of course, being from Tulsa, I'm aware that for quite some time now they've been more known for their passing game and producing QBs. Since Ferrotte, iirc. Tulsa has quietly earned the nickname "QBU," at least locally, according to my HS buddies. In short, they're more biased towards passing, not rushing.

But that's not how the NFL works. Or really, any professional sports league. You know that. Well, at least I think you know that.

The NFL is full of players from tiny ass schools. Some of those players, like LDT, technically didn't even play American football until reaching the pros. There are guys from MAC schools all over the place. HBCUs. Division I-AA, II, and yes, on occasion, even a III guy here or there.

We're not saying that means any asshole from any program (like Tulsa) can play in the NFL. We're saying if you're good enough to get drafted or signed, reach an NFL training camp, and demonstrate in said NFL training camp that you can fulfill a role on a team better than other players at that team's camp, coaches do not give one ounce of shit about the success rate of your school churning out prospects.
