At this point my only hope is that he feels that sitting out one game is symbolic and he’ll be back week 2 regardless.

I don’t see any chance he blinks and signs the extension though. It’s either he comes back after a week or two and we potentially let him walk at the end of the season or it’s back in week 8 and 10000% tag and trade.

I think we tend to underrate Andy Reid in all of this.

If Andy is done with him after this, it’s over.

At this point, if he does it's because we are shitty on defense and the Chiefs cave. I think he's built up so much bad blood that the Chiefs are likely done with it at this point.

If we’re shitty on defense, then it’s more than a Jones problem when you consider all of the investment in the defense over the last few years.

I’d be more inclined to move on in that case.

Agreed - we can fill his absence with a high draft pick and if there isn't anyone there we can always trade back and collect draft picks and see what diamonds in the rough are there.

Yup.

Then hope that team sucks. Best chance we’ll ever have at a high pick with Mahomes and Reid.

Everyone should be reading the article by Lyle Graversen in arrowhead addict.

I was one who thought we would actually do pretty well by letting him sit out until week 8. And all the reasons and advantages for that have been explained multiple times.

But that article raises a key point about the potential for division in the locker room, which has never plagued the Chiefs.

And obviously, our defence will be better with him there for a full season. Of course the price can’t be unreasonable.

All of the sophistry comparing the traditional valuation approach with the new money valuation approach doesn’t seem to advance the argument on what that reasonable amount should be. One valuation, methodology clearly favours the Chiefs. The other clearly favours Jones.

There seem to be a seem to be an increasing number of articles out there that would indicate there should be room for a deal to reached. I think that would be the safest bet to maximize our chances for another Super Bowl this year, and shouldn’t jeopardize going forward.

I don’t think things are as black and white here in terms of who is at fault as this board generally seems to have concluded, in terms of most posters, putting it all on CJ.

Let’s get this done. Let’s move on. Let’s get another Super Bowl

Get to work for the amount YOU agreed to several years ago and then walk next season. The fans aren't with you and doubt the players are either.
Its not enough to be paid what you're worth. There's more than a little "stick it to the man" going on here. It's why PM has to constantly defend his team friendly deal. He's responded to the situation so many times the response rolls out like a memorized line. He was expected to push the envelope, just because he could. You can tell people are in Kelce's ear about it as well.

At this point, it's hard to believe anything CJ has said about KC and the Chiefs. We're watching the equivalent of slow walking the cross walk while the light is green. Let him pout, then tag and trade. KC has plenty of awesome players and fun young guys to rally around, the fans will have no problem forgetting who CJ was propped up to be, or who he actually is.
