#Chiefs GM Brett Veach says he's hopeful that DT Chris Jones will play in their season opener vs. the Lions, which is just eight days away.

But what's the point? He's actually losing money by not showing up for this year and he's not blinking. You think he's more likely to blink if the contract that he's not going to sign becomes a less attractive contract?

Kinda seems obvious he's going to be tagged and traded, and whatever team picks him up from the Chiefs will give him an entirely new deal. So the fact that his tag value will be in the low 20s instead of low 30s will be a moot point as well, no?

Yeah its gonna suck for this year at least.

Getting blindsided by your best defensive player deciding to hold for 8 weeks is hard to prepare for. But in the long run its probably the right move to let this asswipe make a fool of himself and just move on.

Even if it does cost us a few games this year.
