Because the reigning DPOY entering his prime can argue that he should be re-setting the market.

Not sure why this changes anything.
Realize the unreasonable people the Chiefs are dealing with here.

This absolutely changes things.

Jones had a year similar to Bosa last year. He's in that level of player, so it wouldn't shock me to ask for similar but I don't think it matters.

How do you not show up for work when you are asking for a raise?
good way to not to get it I would think

Deebo at almost $30? I had no idea. That’s insane. He’s worth at best 2/3 of that.

There's 7 or 8 game changing Defensive players in the NFL.

Chris Jones is one of those. That's not really the question here though.

Williams and Kittle can come off and save them about $35 million on the cap. Both may be willing to restructure. Armstead will almost certainly come off; that would get them to about $50 million in total savings. Greenlaw and Juszczyk gets them another $15 million.

That would have them about $50 million under the cap before Bosa's number and you gotta figure Bosa will come in around $20 million given the amount of the guarantees but maybe they could get that nearer $15 million by guaranteeing salaries in later years rather than a large signing bonus.

I've seen worse. But this is a LOT of pressure over the next 2 years to try to win a championship with...Brock Purdy.

You can chop Aiyuk and Armstead off that list pretty easily next year.

Bosa has consecutive double-digit sack seasons, DROTY, DPOTY and was the best defensive player in football last year. His pressures alone were far and away better.

Even as a rookie he was insane. A sack, a QB hit and a record 12 pressures in the SB per PFF. He's also young while Chris is almost 30.

It's not even close

Age matters. Jones wants a 3rd deal.
