There's a pretty good chance Chris Jones will be at Arrowhead tonight in a suite to watch the #chiefs open up the season against the #Lions. If he's there it wouldn't be a surprise to the Chiefs either and they are not opposed to allowing Jones to be there and see the Super Bowl banner drop.

I’m so confused by this holdout? What does Jones realistically gain by this? Is he trying to play himself out of the league. Chris you are under contract for this year! You have a job now do it. Do you deserve a raise? Absolutely but please be smart about this

To me, it sure seems like he’s looking to be traded at the deadline.

The deadline for accrued season I believe is week 10, and he specifically said week 8…which is the week before the trade deadline.

The only thing it signals to me is he wants some stupid shit like a huge signing bonus/guarantee and if he's willing to sit a bunch of games for it it says Chris doesn't think he'll be good to much longer.

So rough numbers are that if Jones holds out till week 8 he misses out on about $10M correct?

Now that $10M rolls over to next years cap for Veach to play with correct?

Is there anyway that Veach/Katz/Jones have an agreement that he gets his money on week 9 thus making him square, making him the highest paid DT in the league and having him super fresh for the rest of the season and playoffs?

The big negative would be of course can the team win without him the first 8 weeks?

Would this really end up being a win/win for both minus the team playing without him the first 8 weeks?
