This is Glorious! Great Bills board post.

I don't know how to embed or whatever so I am going to type this myself. This is a quote from the Bills message board tonight. I loved it so wanted to share.

"I've said it 50 times and I'll say it 50 more. 13 seconds was our Super Bowl. That was our game. That was our year. Everyday we get farther away from 13 seconds the more it haunts me"

Has there ever been a better post season victory that was not a SB win!

I prefer the Bengals AFCCG, but 13 Seconds is number 2 in my book

The way the Bills players and their families were celebrating was pretty incredible.

2021 AFC Divisional Round = 1983 NFC Championship

Look it up and you'll see what I mean.

A prelude to greatness.

Yeah. Between those and the Houston game, it's like asking someone to pick a favorite child.

But, from a purely "rip the soul from your so called rival" perspective, nothing will ever beat 13 seconds.

So the Chiefs might someday be as great as the 80s Redskins?

Okay but the game you're referencing was won by the Redskins. Whereas we won the 13 seconds game. I'm just not seeing the parallel.

Yes, but we lost to the Bengals.

It's not a perfect analogy.

The 83 NFC Championship was an all-timer Montana peformance that got marred by a bad call. Lost to history, but 49ers fans remember it, and how they came back the next year to win it all.

Many years from now, we'll see 13 seconds and the Bengals loss the same way.

Come to think of it, that divisional win for SF wasn't bad either. I'll have to look at that final drive.

Just to build this up a little bit more, we also both have Native American-themed mascots. (Or had.)

Oh wow. That's a heartbreaker for DET. Almost like Buffalo.

It's simple. Most people will never remember the 1983 NFC Championship, even though it was an all-time comeback by Montana. Because it never resulted in anything great for the 49ers that year.

But that experience paid off the next season when SF took it's second Lombardi home.

In much the same way, 13 seconds was an all-time playoff performance for Mahomes. But even if it didn't result in anything great for the Chiefs that year...we all know it paid off in the long run.

At least that is how I look at it. You are welcome to come up with your own analogy, if you can find a better one.
