Offensive Tackles

I'm not going to overreact as it's only been 2 games but boy has their play has been meh at best. I'm not too worried about Taylor as I am Smith who looked like a declining player in Tampa. Everyone says it was because he was injured and maybe he still is but this has to get better if we're going to repeat as champs

And remember that. You're with BWillie.

Remember when we traded Hill, and you thought KC was done, and we were going to be bad? I told you it was going to be ok. And we won the Super Bowl.

You can sit over with the guy who's literally never right, and I'll tell you...

It's going to be ok.

What was wrong in week 2 was the penalties. They kept shooting themselves in the foot. A normal penalty count and we'd have put up 30 plus.

The issue is that the guys charged with penalties may or may not be repeat offenders who cannot stop

Some people are just happy to paddle against the current because the narrative tells them the current is wrong.

The tackles will adjust and be fine. Offensive lines take a while to gel. By the end of the year, this will be as good of an OL that we’ve had in the Mahomes era (barring injury of course).

The media’s focus and attacks on Taylor are unprecedented for an offensive lineman.

Heck, Richie Incognito wasn’t vilified this much.

The Wall Street Journal takes a momentary break from covering the business world to pile on…

Defenses Can’t Stop Patrick Mahomes. An $80 Million Teammate Who Doesn’t Line Up Correctly Might.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ offense is off to its slowest start of the Mahomes era, and an expensive lineman’s penalties help explain why.

At its best, the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense is explosive and efficient in equal proportion. Receivers fan out deep; tight end Travis Kelce swivels into space in the middle of the field; Patrick Mahomes turns his helmet one direction and throws the football another.

Over the six seasons since Mahomes took over the quarterback job, a span that has yielded two Lombardi*Trophies, “Go” has rarely been Kansas City’s problem. “Ready” and “Set,” lately, are.

Through their first two games of 2023, a one-point loss to the Detroit Lions and a taxing win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the defending Super Bowl champions have managed just 37 total points, placing them in the bottom third of the NFL. The most visible reason for the struggles has been right tackle Jawaan Taylor, whom Kansas City signed to a four-year, $80 million contract over the offseason.

Yes, I remember. And FWIW, IMO, you bring a lot to this place. However, I think you guys who think the WR room is fine, are all wrong. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, and this is BWillie's broken clock moment.

This BWillie is wrong thing is strange. I think our WRs are not good and this is...startling to you?

BWillie is rarely wrong. He just brings you the truth you need to hear. You have all been blinded by homerism. We CAN still win the SB with these pieces of shit it is just harder.

Chiefsplanet told us that Deneric Prince was Barry Sanders. BWillie mocked because such views were while they werent even wearing pads.

Chiefsplanet told us that our WRs were a top group in the league. BWillie was skeptical.

Chiefsplanet believes Travis Kelce is immortal and nothing to be concerned about leaning on a 34 yr TE to make every catch. Gets injured before season starts.

Chiefsplanet believes Kadarius Toney is the next Tyreek Hill. BWillie points out how hes never been good before.

Chiefsplanet believs Andy Reid to be a demigod and noone can ever question one thing he does. BWillie tells u short yardage would be an issue before it became and issue and here we are.

Chiefsplanet at least until the last year of his contract thought OBJ was the answers to our oline prayers. BWillie pointed out how he was not well suited for our offense and wasn't actually very good and we should not resign.

I have only been wrong once in my life. And that is that Richie James would be a big part of this offense. And hell he might have been if he wasn't injured as we come to find out. I am the prophet, the omnipotent one, the great knowing. I am like Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding. It is a gift. I cannot control it; the great crystal ball that I am. Years from now league circles and scholars will posthumously dub me a modern day Nostradamous.

What a stupid article! Jawaan had one false start in the loss to the Lions, IIRC. He was raped against the Jags because of all the media attention for doing pretty much what he always has done...for 4+ years in the league...

...wsj should stick to business...
