State of the AFCW 2023 edition

So far Chiefs are in sole first place. The Dungkeys will be lucky to win 5 games. The Fade…. McDaniels really kicked a FG on 4th and Goal from the 8…. Down 8…. With 2:30 to go. And Chargers look worse than last year. Now looks like Mike Williams may be done for the season. This division is ours for the taking, and BACK TO BACK starts with that!

Personally, I am all for that! Mahomes not having to go hero to win will be epic! When defense balls out, the offense doesn't have as much pressure.

Further, who cares who carries, the team wins is what matters!

Which then leads to the question is it Johnston or Palmer as the 2 because so far Johnston has looked pretty shitty.

They lucked out and got the win but the HC should still be fired. He won't be and he'll cost them a game or two with his stupidity so I'm good.

I would love to see it. Mahomes has had very shaky defenses his entire career, including multiple playoff losses in high school where he scored 50 points. It would be epic if Spags and his guys can do an elite job this season. But we will see. There is a lot of firepower in Miami, Buffalo, Cincy, Philly, & San Francisco.

I had missed that. I figured it was his usual lower leg injury that costs him six games before he comes back for 2 and reinjures it but not before he racks up 100 yards against KC.

I can't believe the pressure we're seeing from the DL. Their play against the run has been so fundamentally sound as well.

It's incredible what the DL is doing. I expected the linebackers to ball out, and the secondary looks as amazing as we hoped it would.

But the DL really, really looked problematic to me to start the season. I worried they'd struggle to apply consistent pressure and that you could roll them over in the run game.

And yet, we've applied constant pressure, lodged 7 sacks in the two Jones games, and nobody's run effectively on us.

Veach, Spags, and Cullen all deserve heaping amounts of credit for what they're doing at that position. I seriously cannot believe how good they are at the start of the season.
