Offensive Tackles

I'm not going to overreact as it's only been 2 games but boy has their play has been meh at best. I'm not too worried about Taylor as I am Smith who looked like a declining player in Tampa. Everyone says it was because he was injured and maybe he still is but this has to get better if we're going to repeat as champs

That's what's so ****ing irritating. He's been fantastic. And if it wasn't for the bundle of sticksry of Chris Collinsworth we'd all be praising him and Veach for yet another excellent move.

Donovan Smith has been extremely good as well. You saw just how good when Prince had to jump in for him and immediately got destroyed. Smith hasn’t allowed a play like that all year. He is just so much more athletic than OBJ and a truly skilled pass blocker.

Going to be really hard to watch him walk if he keeps playing so well. Taylor is good too, these penalties have been bullshit and I’m so glad Andy is calling it out. Enough is enough.

I think what really started pissing people off was when Taylor "appeared" to be false starting but if you slow the video down he's actually timing it PERFECTLY with the center's hike so then the talking heads think to themselves. What CAN we call out on this guy? And there you have it.

We're being officiated unfairly and it's getting really goddamn old. Clark and Andy need to be in someone's ear about this because it's absolutely ridiculous and as near as I can tell, completely unprecedented.
This so much.
We're wining anyhow, but that Jags game was an absolute shit show as far as the officiating went. I don't think Roger wants a 6th consecutive AFC championship game in Arrowhead. I don't think he wanted a 5th one and that's why we got some questionable decisions for the Bengals Bills fiasco.

I read Tim Donaghy's book a couple of years ago and this shit reminds me exactly of some of the things he talked about. Hidden agendas, preferential treatment, rubber banding games, "Michael Jordan DOES NOT FOUL OUT IN PLAYOFF GAMES. "THESE PEOPLE DIDN'T PAY ALL THIS MONEY TO WATCH MJ SIT ON THE BENCH" and on and on...

I shall assume the position and take necessary punishment for my doubting of Veach and Smith. How he pulled an above average LT out of his ass for 4 million after the draft I just can't comprehend.

Imagine being a team that overpaid for a shitty tackle from the Superbowl Champs!

Me too. He was bad last year though. But I was thinking this morning how long should we wait to try to extend him?

The margins in this league are so incredibly small that if you're NOT pushing it to the absolute limit of legal, you're starting every snap at a disadvantage.

That's a wholly unfair expectation of a team, let along one single player. And again, it's essentially unprecedented.

I'm tired of "well why doesn't Taylor just...{insert remedial action designed to accommodate league ****ery}?" How 'bout the league stop the goddamn ****ery instead?
We’ll we’re just three weeks into the season and he’s had one penalty late in the 4th quarter of week 1 that led us to a 4th and 20 do-or-die situation along with another penalty in week 3 that wiped a long TD off the board and got our QB injured the very next play. So he’s already contributed heavily to our only loss AND is indirectly responsible for our QB getting hurt.

He’s had his time of skirting the rules and testing the limits. Whether they’re targeting him or not, there is no guarantee that they’ll stop so now it’s on him to be more careful.

I noticed when he was taken out yesterday his backup came in and was extremely close to the LoS and didn’t notice much of a drop off from our 20 million dollar man.

It can be done.

I don't think you guys are wrong.

But the Chiefs have no control over what the league does. They only have control over what they can do.
