*****2023 NFL DRAFT THREAD - NO SPOILERS*****

Version 2023 - PATRICK MAHOMES & THE HUNT FOR THE MIDDLE FINGER RING

Let's ****ing do this.

Quote:
Rules for once the draft begins:
  1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").
  2. Don't be a dick.
Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny. I'll also be starting player threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. These separate threads will be made as soon as the news breaks, outside of this thread. I will link the threads below. Pure knee-jerk gold to reference in the future.

Here are our picks:

Round 1, #31: Felix Anudike-Uzomah
Round 2, #55: Rashee Rice
Round 3, #92: Wanya Morris
Round 4, #119: Chamarri Conner
Round 5, #166: BJ Thompson
Round 6, #194: Keondre Coburn
Round 7, #250: Nic Jones

Here is a list of the prospects the Chiefs have shown interest in this year.

PHI appears to have had a heck of a draft. Is it me or did they end up with a better DL than they had in 2022? probably will be back in the SB in 2023, somehow in spite of losing a bunch of FAs.

They'll probably be very good. Am curious to see if there are any setbacks after losing both their offensive and defensive coordinators.

I'd be okay with the Eagles drafting one spot in front of us again a year from now.

Who do CP’s draft community think had the best drafts? Take the Chiefs out of it for this one bc we’ve beaten our draft to death.

I’ll go Steelers, Colts, Seahawks and Texans. Ballard has a franchise altering draft IMO that saves his job. And as much as I loved the Seahawks draft, I didn’t get drafting a RB in rd 2 again when Kenneth Walker was excellent. Thought the Schmitz C kid would have been better but that’s my only gripe.

I wasn’t a fan of the Chargers draft. I just didn’t get it after the first rd.

Probably Steelers and Colts but I’m going to include the Lions as well. The RB and LB picks might be head scratchers but those guys are going to play for them. The rest of their draft was good as well.

The Colts draft is literally the same thing they always do though, accumulate picks, take really athletic guys that are long.

The Richardson pick changes a lot though. He has the highest ceiling but needed a coach and I think the Richardson/Steichen marriage is gonna be similar to Allen/Daboll.

I think Ballard got amazing value this time. Brents was good in rd 2, your guy Downs was excellent value in rd 3. Blake Freeland and especially Adebawore was excellent value in rd 4. And I loved the Mallory pick in rd 5 to be the speed TE option pairing with the towering Jelani Woods.

Ballard reached on these guys before. Instead of Paris Campbell in rd 2 he got Josh Downs in rd 3. Instead of Odeyingbo in rd 2 he’s getting Adebawore in rd 4.

Didn’t see any reaches from him this year

Yeah looked a very good draft to me. A lot of guys like Ade that could amount to nothing, but all.at good value picks. There's a LOT of upside in that draft. A much better draft for them.

Philly, Steelers and maybe Colts. Philly even got some amazing UDFA guys in.

Losing Hargrave will impact their pass rush but I wouldnt be surprised if Carter is an immediate upgrade against the run. It's a stacked, insane roster that could easily be better than last years and cheaper and younger.

Philly's draft hinges on guys who fell for reasons actually performing..

I'm sorry to say this there's a reason Nolan Smith was still there, just like Nakobe Dean last year.

The Bears and Panthers might have really ****ed up badly here.

It's early but CJ Stroud has looked incredibly good so far on a young team without Tunsil. Back-to-back 100+ rating games, 4 TD's/0 INT's and on pace to throw for 5k yards.

Just watching him on Sunday has me really impressed. I think he's gonna be a guy to look at moving forward.

Smith is rotating in and looks decent if unspectacular, which I'd expect early on. They have the luxury of being able to do this. Carter is exactly as advertised, a better run defender than Hargrave and already an effective pass rusher. Dean, I dunno, maybe he's the bust. The big question is the secondary but again Sydney Brown looks good. It still looks like a VERY good draft to me given what they needed to replace.
