Chiefs Have #1 Scoring Defense (#2 All Points Allowed)

They’re actually number one if you remove the pick-6 from the Lions game.

This is how the teams we played rank on offense in ppg.

Lions - 4th
Jags - 21st
Bears - 11th
Jets - 24th
Vikings - 15th
Donks - 19th

None of those teams are the worst offense in the league.
...and they'd all be alot higher if the Chiefs didn't shut them all down

Why would a pick 6 matter on a defensive scoring stat? The defense did not allow that score.

Agreed. We have faced rather weak competition, even in Detroit, who we should have beat soundly. Herbert x 2, Burrow, Allen, Tua and Hurts are still yet to be faced.

That's a huge difference from what we have faced thus far

In '97 that would have been a Super Bowl winner. Today, I think we need to improve on offense.

I know it's PFF, but Goff is the highest rated QB this year so far. Goff and Cousins are actual good passing QBs.

Spags D gets STINGY in the second halves.

If Rice and Ross can find their grooves before the end of the season?

Defensive scores are factored in offensive PPG and vice versa. It makes no sense but that is how it goes.

Rice will - Ross probably won't get the opportunity.

Lol, dipsticks (dpstk9/ucb/et al) actually trying to pump up the Donks/Bears, just to try and make that #2 ranking sound more legitimate, as if we didn't actually see them play vs. our defense already.

Only on CP. Way to go, dumbasses.

What's your point... Every team has played subpar offenses. The Donks and Bears have way more offensive talent than some of the other pathetic teams in this league and are ranked accordingly? Again, what's your motivation to discount the best defense this team has had since the 90's?

Imagine a "chiefs fan" crying his eyes out because he wants to prove to everyone else that "the Chiefs defense isn't as good as the rankings".. IDIOT!!. All of the top defenses have faced weak offenses. San Fran, Philly, Dallas, Browns etc. They haven't faced better offenses than we have so your point is garbage.

The Jets have significantly more talent than either DEN or CHI, and what they're doing can't even be called offense, so I don't know what talent has to do with it. DEN and CHI played like ass when w played them, and have for pretty much the season, outside of a couple three games. So I don't know why we have to make it seem like they were any good. Except to make our defense sound better, which is kind of dumb.

We know our defense is playing well right now, I don't see why we have to try and exaggerate the offenses of two shitty teams.

And we also have seen how these 'rankings' can be utter BS, thanks to lack of context such as the quality of the opponents. The most obvious example for Chiefs fans being the 2018 KC defense, but also the numerous other defenses (some of which KC has crushed over the last 5 years) that were incorrectly 'ranked' as a 'number 1 defense,' or 'the number 3 defense,' whatever.

So my point seems rather simple. I think it's wiser to judge them dispassionately, accept that they haven't played against enough good to great offenses to know for certain that they're a top-2 defense, that's all. I prefer to err on the side of caution, after just 6 games.

But I have acknowledged that they're playing at a very high level, that they might even be a top-5 defense, so I honestly don't see why this is a problem for any intelligent fan.

Btw, the Chiefs defense DVOA ranking last week was 11th.

I'll simply say this is the best start to a spags defense that I've ever seen.

It wasn't so long ago that reaching the 20 against a Spags unit was virtually guaranteed six points, no matter what talent level the opposing offense was. They were off to the worst start in NFL history in a past season. Abysmal.

They've started extremely strong, and getting what we hope is a big piece in Omenihu back, they could get stronger.

Pretty happy with what we've got on defense, and once the offense gels, what a nightmare KC will be in the playoffs.
