You are the GM and you need to make a $12m decision. Do you bring MVS back?
If MVS is designated as a pre 6/1 cut that would free up $12m with $2m in dead money.
https://overthecap.com/player/marque...scantling/7059 We obviously don't know who will be out there available in FA so the question is posed based solely on his performance in KC so far. Do you bring him back to KC for the 24 season at $11.5m base salary... or do you try to trade him and failing that simply release him? |

It all depends on what the market is for replacement but all signs point to release at this point.

So, anyway, you get these kinds of results. He can have a great game, as he did in the AFCCG, but that's the outlier performance. He can have one or two of those per season (or whatever the cycle really is), but mostly you're going to get his average, which is 1-2 catches/game. Basically, the same thing we're seeing with Skyy. Mostly 2-3 catches/game (approx. 9 yd/cth average), with the occasional 4+ catch game every 8 or so games, or twice a season, maybe. But we also are getting 1-catch games/blanks for about a third of the season from Skyy, which is just inexcusable, considering what his role is supposed to be, whether you call it WR2, possession receiver, whatever.

I said this before, but Veach should put together whatever it takes to move up for Harrison Jr.
Yeah, it would probably cost some 1st round picks, but we aren't really going to get a 1st round talent at 30-32 anyway, so I would much rather have a potential superstar receiver, to pair with my superstar TE & the best QB ever. So what if we miss out on picking another FAU or even Karlaftis, when we could possibly have the next great QB/WR duo for at least 5 years? Hell, even if we had to do a couple of 1st AND 2nd round picks, I would do it. I mean, Karlaftis is good, but honestly, we could easily replace him, and FAU has been MIA, plus Rice, Moore, and even Hardman, and a couple of other 2nd round picks haven't set the world on fire. So, we miss out on the next Karlaftis and Moore, and the next FAU and Rice, BUT we would have the best WR prospect, with a proven NFL pedigree (which is actually a pretty good indicator that Harrison Jr. will be good considering all the kids currently balling out, like Samuel Jr, Surtain Jr, Porter Jr, etc.) Also, as Harrison Jr. becomes a beast, it would ease the transition of losing Kelce, and give us time to find the next stud TE. We are a SB team, so we don't have a lot of holes to fill, so the front end of the draft could be sacrificed for a couple of years, especially since it would set is up pretty well for at least 5 years, but probably more. |

Has zero trade value but it was the only option that involved cutting his useless ass.

I know, let's cut every WR, every year and start over and see how that works out.

Still baffles me he was thought as a valuable piece. I suppose the AFCCG was a great performance. But he's not good, never has been good, and the cost really isn't that cheap.
