Vietnam - Anyone live or vacation there recently?
In a little over 18 months I have the ability to retire.

I have begun evaluating places around the globe to spend my summer months and then return to the Phoenix area for winters.

I would like to rent a place for 5 months from May through end of September.

A place that has really caught my attention for both a great beautiful location and low cost is the seaside town of Nha Trang in Vietnam.

I have also considered the Philippines.

Would love to hear any advice or recommendations.

I was in Vietnam twice in 2018/2019.
Been to NhaTrang. Nice beaches.. not very happening..lots of unfriendly Russians… big Russian expat community there. Some decent rooftop bars. Lots of seafood.. street food.

HCMC (Saigon). Lots of great street food. Excellent local beer. Nitrous in balloons is legal there so you can try that with your beer. Lots of places to go but you need a local for the best experience… pretty girls there. If you’re single go online and set up some dates. (Vietnam Cupid)

Also I’ve been to Hanoi. Capital city. Little more uptight. Has some vibe but not as cool as Saigon.
