Andy Reid, then and now.

This was a post from 2015 responding to how Denver wouldn't be Denver the next year. Some interesting notes on Reids coaching and decisionmaking here.

Andy Reid will be personally responsible for at least a quarter of the season's worth of losses once again due to his complete lack of ability to call plays relevant to the current situation.

Should I go for it on 4th down or punt for 17 yards of field position like against San Francisco?

8 years later and still doing the surrender punts. So, this isn't likely to stop.

Run the ball? Sounds hard.

It's a lot more defensible now that he has the best qb on the planet, but there are times in big games where running the ball could have turned things around. Superbowl 55 and the AFCCG second half meltdown to the Bengals come to mind.

We're up 28 points in the 3rd quarter of a playoff game? Keep throwing.

Could that horrific Colts loss be the catalyst for why we pump the brakes so hard and play terrible offensive football when we are ahead now?

Jamaal just busted his biggest run of the season on the opening drive of the third quarter? Give him 4 more carries the rest of the football game.

We see this happen with Pacheco. Clyde coming into the game to run the football, it just never makes sense.

Kelce keeps making big plays when he's on the field? Sub in Fasano.

This is now happening with Rashee Rice. I swear anytime the kid makes a play he's riding the bench for ten minutes.

1st and goal at the 1 inch line? TIME OUT!! TIME OUT!! Gotta think this over. What the hell play can I possibly call here? Can we take 2 timeouts in a row? I really need the time here......

Ah look. He sucked at short yardage back then too. Cool.

Alex Smith will continue to be the same "safe throw or sack" QB he has been. In combination with Reids complete and utter stupidity on gameday at times, this simply will not overcome that. This is how you lose to the dregs of the NFL.

We've lost some laughers, but not because we have a safe throw or sack qb. Colts last year, donks this year, and we've played down to some terrible teams in the Mahomes era.

Reid's been doing this for nearly two decades, peeps. Just as his atrocious eating habits are destroying his body and health with no changes forthcoming, the dumbshittery of this lardass will continue to destroy the playoff chances of the Kansas City Chiefs.

What a difference having the best qb that ever lived makes.

Some interesting things there, like I hadn't remembered he was so bad with short yardage and took timeouts on the goal line.

The surrender punting Jesus Christ I mean maybe you can justify that because you have zero faith in Alex Smiths parallel to the line of scrimmage passing attack to get it, but to continue this with Mahomes? Come on. Now.

Taking the young guys out of the game right after a big play....I just don't get it.

Maybe the most interesting is that loss of aggression with the lead. Because up 28 on the Colts, his continuing to press the attack and failing allowed all those free clock stoppages and allowed the Colts the time to come back.

For the most part, he's the same dude doing the same dumb shit he was doing 8 years ago, he just has a better qb now.

The guy watches film right. We hear about how often he looks in the mirror after a loss, but does he? Says he wants to " do a better job".

Okay.

Would that include maybe.....leaving players making big plays for you in the game?

Would it include oh I don't know, going ahead and gambling those sweet sweet precious 19 yards of field position with the best qb on earth to try to keep the football in second halves that you're averaging 5 ****ing points?

Just spitballing.

Is he simply stubborn? Is he incapable of remembering....hey we had a situation like this...I punted like a coward and we lost anyway? The only thing we know he remembers for sure is not to qb sneak with Mahomes.

I'm trying to figure out how a guy who looks in the mirror so often keeps doing the same inexplicable shit for years and years.
Fourth all time in wins, second all time in playoff wins, two time SB Champion yet he’s doing something wrong and you nitpick. You are the kind of fan that is never satisfied no matter what. There are 31 other teams that would kill for Reid. He accomplished a ton even before Mahomes, so it’s not like all his accomplishments came with one QB ala Belechick. But hey, enjoy being miserable instead of enjoying the best era of KC football ever.

So Andy Reid is a more successful HC with a GOAT QB? What a hot take.

In related news, Bill Belichick is the same HC he was 30 years ago in Cleveland, without Tom Brady.

Take a look at the winningest HCs of all time in the regular season and in SBs and show how many of them were as successful as Reid without an elite or at least HOF QB. Of course he’s more successful with Mahomes, but he was no slouch without him.

Stop splitting hairs. Wallcrawler merely pointed out flaws that Andy’s always had and it pissed the board off. His flaws are legitimate gripes. Thank God for Patrick.

So what’s his aim in doing so and why? It’s almost like he has a grudge and wanted to create his “I told you so” post. Andy has flaws yet is still one of the greatest HCs of all time. Of course you side with him as you are part of the miserable curmudgeon crowd on here.

I just don't understand the point. Andy has flaws. So does Belichick and every other HOF coach. Football is hard, and the ones who do things right the most are the ones who win.

So what are we actually trying to prove here?

Who would you rather have as HC of the Chiefs than Andy?

The OP is too chicken shit to answer.

I was looking up who the best hitters in baseball were this past season, and man, was I ever disappointed. Most of these jackasses aren't even reaching first base 30% of the time! And that's praised as excellent??? Can you imagine if only had to succeed 30% of the time at my job in order to be considered one of the best???!!!!!!

Obvious, coaches will coach speak and Andy's all about that, but what have you gathered from him and other players all these years?
Andy after any loss:
Gotta do a better job, gotta look in the mirror, I take full responsibility.

If asked specifically about any particular juicy spurt of pant shitting, we get:

Listen, *cough cough* we thought we had something there, gotta do a better job with those situations. That starts with me.

I haven't had a chance to look at the film, but listen *cough cough* doggone barbecue sauce better job mirror, and that starts with me.

Maybe I just am not valuing 19 yards of field position highly enough. Maybe I am the one that needs to look in the mirror. Patrick Mahomes is great, okay, but listen. This was NINETEEN MOTHER ****ING YARDS OF FIELD POSITION.

I don't care if you've got Joe Montanas cool, Barry Sanders' moves and Pat's arm out there.

WE ARENT RISKING IT.

Sure, we might covert 4th n manageable and keep the football, but dog gone. If you turn it over there....it's literally nineteen yards less they gotta move now.
