Yeah, most other bad calls you’ve at least seen before. We’ve seen plenty of missed pass interference calls. We’ve seen plenty of weak holds called.

I’ve never seen a stationary QB get sacked and be ruled forward progress.

I don’t (and will never) understand how a ref sees that play and forward progress comes to mind at all.

The ONLY thing I think might have happened is some sort of quiet league memo about ruling QBs down sooner on sacks just before the playoffs that year. For some reason, “forward progress” was on the ref’s mind for that call.

The Mariota fumble wasn't a judgment call. It was very obvious that Triplette tried to create a story afterwards to justify calling off the fumble. We'll never know why he stopped the play, but it wasn't because he sincerely thought it was forward progress.

The refs are really trying to make this broncos game close. I was hoping that they were going to have a makeup call there to call that back given that they took off a Houston touchdown on the other end.
