I'm sure that is what everyone would have said with Tyreek Hill and the Chiefs. Impossible to understand another teams future concerns regarding the cap. These GMs are looking years and years into future.

Yeah, no one would have guessed the Chiefs would have traded the best WR in football but they did.

I sincerely hope they head into next year with the thought Rice is the #3 and Toney the #4. Sign a veteran in free agency and get into the top 15ish territory in the draft to land a potential superstar.

Lockett would immediately be a vet that could get vertical and be a leader here. I also call Raiders on Davonte. If they are changing coaches it is possible they choose draft capitol for a rebuild. |

This year the draft is deep in WR. So the need to move up isn't exactly a have to if you plan on acquiring a #1 WR in FA. |

They probably are going to keep Watson around. I doubt they are just going to release Toney or Moore on rookie deals. They have Rice and might want to keep Ross around. I'd venture to say it's one veteran FA and one 1st or 2nd rounder at WR. If I think I'm correct about how KC will feel about the LT situation, I'd probably bank on another 2nd round WR. Maybe they opt for a guy like Marquise Brown that can burn and play outside instead of maybe a Mooney. I wouldn't rule out a situation that looks like: FA WR Marquise Brown RD1 OT Amarius Mims RD2 WR Ja'Lynn Polk Maybe they can snag another guy on day 3 like Tre Harris or something but I won't hold my breath. They have holes to fill on the DL too. |

Rice can be a 2, he has the talent he just really needs to improve his route running so he can be more than a manufactured catch guy. Either way though 2 legit WRs need to be added to the offense.

Probably gonna have to keep drafting guys. Not sure they can pay big money to veteran WRs when they have so many contracts looming. Humphrey is gonna be a massive deal. Trey Smith, Sneed, Gay, Maybe Jones. These guys are going to be looking for huge numbers. Veach has a lot to figure out all while the WR room is in shambles.

They are going to have to attack this shit show from every different angle; expensive proven #1 veteran, mid-range #2-3 veteran, and a high draft pick. Don't care about the cost, don't want to hear excuses, don't want to listen to any bullshit. All 3 of these avenues need to be taken for 2024, and that's all there is to it.
Don't care if we have to overpay (we will) and don't care if they don't fit the exact prototype Reid wants in a WR. Acquire multiple legitimate NFL receivers at all costs. That's it, end of conversation. If this doesn't happen, we'll see the same exact garbage again next year. Just do it. |

1. We can not afford to trade for a WR. It would set us back, not move us forward. With Pat's contract you have to use draft picks to keep the roster talented and cheep.
2. Recognize what you really have. For as God awful as the WR position group has been this season, this team has drafted and developed a potential #1 WR in Rice. 3. Mike Evans is absolutely perfect for this team. He's consistent. A champion. And at 31 he's not going to break the bank, and Tampa isn't going to tag him, because they are not going to want to pay him that kind of money. Just go get him, and you probably solve most of your WR issues in my opinion. 4. Identify the real problem. MVS is ****ing awful. Dude is supposed to be the veteran presence in the WR group, he's not. He's hot and cold. he's not a leader. Cut him and move on. This should have been done last off season. He's holding this offense back. 5. Draft a mid-round kick returner who has upside as a WR. I loved Charlie Jones last year our of Purdue, great return guy with some upside at WR. History of making some big plays. Go get a kid like that for Toub and Pat. 6. Coaching is a problem. I know we are not going to can Nagy, and frankly I don't think we should. However, Reid needs to stop approaching his coaching staff like its a college for coach development. Conner Embree is a ****ing disaster. Why is Todd Pinkston a running back coach? I understand moving these guys around is great for developing coaches, but is it best for developing our players? 7. We need to invest in the RB position. I love Pacheco and what he brings, and its a perfect compliment to the offense when its a big flying machine. But when the passing game is shut down or struggles, it's too easy to take him away. We need more speed and athleticism at the position. Boy to we miss McKinnnon. Time to spend a mid round draft pick on a RB. 8. Tackles. Look, I think you have to trust that Taylor can straighten things out. I think the BS calls at the beginning of the season have really impacted him. Face it, there is no easy way to eject from that contract but I think we do know what he's not going to be our LT. So have him focus on RT and move forward. As for Morris, I'm still rooting for the kid and I do think its good that he's getting experience. Maybe it helps him develop, but also lets the front office know what they have in him. The Chiefs have to be looking at LT's high in the draft, and if you sign a FA WR like Evans, there is no reason why you shouldn't take one. 9. Guard is a bigger draft need than we think. I don't think at this point we are going to keep Trey Smith. I love the kid and the attitude but the consistancy isn't there. We got to be hunting for guards in the draft. The good news is that you have another year with Smith, so you could let Thuney walk, but gosh then you are rebuilding the entire left side of the line. But maybe that's the play. |

Hard to answer this thread until February when cuts are made. You have guys like Jerry Jeudy who are on a roster but they are 100% getting cut or trade for cheap.

I'm not overly sure this team can afford Mike Evans and if you are drafting a WR at 25 it's gonna be Troy Franklin.
