Off-season WR possibilities

Seeing a lot of teams with sub .500 records with WRs that need to get with Mahomes.

Who is available and who would you like to see us pursue to go with Rice and Watson.

Ultimately, we may be just x1 alpha WR away from accomplishing the same on a good year.
What we were missing was one more WR that wasn't a total dumpster fire.

I get what you are saying but if they use the 1st round pick on a WR that is a actually very good then I would be fine with Mooney and another guy as the add.

If this draft has a guy that profiles as a future #1 then I want them to MOVE UP for that player. So we need to be aggressive.

It comes down to overall resources. If it was Mooney and a 3rd round pick only I would be upset too.

I don't think of the 1st rd WR's last year would be in the top 4 of this years draft.

Harrison Jr
Nabers
Odunze

We know for a fact that none of those guys come close those 3. Keon Coleman, Troy Franklin, Adonai Mitchell, Xavier Worthy, Bryan Thomas, Emeka Egbuka.

Obviously need to confirm all these guys will come out which will happen by 1/15 but if this is the WR class then man. Just totally blows 2023's class out of the water

I think so. Pretty sure that there will be guys taken in the 2nd this year that are better than any WRs taken in the 1st last year. It's pretty loaded and not too many little guys either. Most of the good ones are 6'1" to 6'4".

If Im Veach Im selling my soul for Nabers. That dude is unreal. Within a year he will be talked about as a top 5 receiver in the game with Jefferson, Chase, Marvin Harrison Jr. Pray five QBs get taken in the top 10 along with Marvin Harrison Jr., and Nabers falls to 11 or 12. Package a couple first rounders plus and just do it.

Lets stop dickin around, drop the hammer, and give Mahomes the elite alpha #1 he deserves for the final 10 years of his career.

Reid also probably only has a handful of years left. Let Big Red have a ferrari to scheme with to finish his HOF career.

It is our front office's job to see more than the average fan and understand who can play and who cannot beyond just production numbers.

That's why I like Mooney as a buy low candidate because you see the skillset and you see the poor use by the Bears.

If Veach wants less risk then you pay more for a Hollywood, etc.

Either way, you still need to add value vet and a #1 pick at WR if they don't find a guy they want to pay 20 million plus to.
I would pay Hollywood the few extra mill in a heartbeat. He’s much better than Mooney. He’s been good with jack and shit for qb play most of the last two years.

His entire career really. Not like Lamar uses his WRs like Pat would. I think Hollywood would be a really great fit here. He's got sub-4.3 wheels and catches pretty much everything. Everyone complaining about reliable speed, he's the guy. No picks given up.

A few days ago I was sold on Ridley being the dog that leads this pack with the ability to do everything and be a high two/low 1 type. Then I started hitting some highlights. Give Mahomes that mid 4.2 speed and watch him cook. Brown can run the screen game, work deep, leave guys lost with solid routes. He’s really as close as you’ll get to tyreek and at about half the cost. He’s one upside at two cost.

The guys regularly making catches in traffic. He was traded for and had a half season with Hopkins/kyler/ kingsbury. Since then he’s still been the number one with back ups you can’t name and that goon Gannon coaching. Watch this quick reel and tell me the guys not worth 4 million more a year than a jag like Mooney.

Strongly agree with Brown over Mooney. I suspect we'll overpay for him, but it's the least bad option. Brown, Rice and a top R1 WR and I think we're in far better shape. I'd stll probably like us to dip again in the draft, it's just too deep to pass that up.

This. Get who you have to get.

All the Mahomes magic in the world doesn't matter if the prick on the other end drops it...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Brown, Rice + (Ebugka/Thomas Jr/Franklyn/Legette)...could be pretty nice group.

Toney can stay on as the gadget guy, kick Mecole to curb if Brown is in house bc we have Watson as our 2nd deep threat.

If you can land Hollywood, and another good outside WR in the draft while keeping Rice at power slot this offense is at least an upper end Corvette again if not a ferrari.

You're saying if he brings in Hollywood Brown it's a failure?

Strongly disagree.

People can say "Just trade for one!" but that is far easier said than done. KC is not in a window where it can just throw money and resources at a single problem and have enough to handle the rest of the roster. There's a balance to find.

Even spending tier-2 money to land a WR like Brown or Evans and then also sending the 1st on a WR might be seen as "too much" and could leave the roster unbalanced and short of being THE favorite in the NFL.

Man I just don't know about Hollywood. It seems like a lot of money for a guy whose just a better version of Mvs. I want a high target share guy. A Swiss army knife guy. Id like more reliable speed guys but if these guys are more often than not just clear out guys i feel like we can find other ways to get that. It doesn't feel like this comes close to addressing our major problems right now with consistency and mahomes having guys who can reliably just be where they need to be
