I mean that IS typically the first line on Jackson's scouting report.

"Brilliant player; true student of the game. Understands how to read defenses forward and backwards. Future coach in the making..."

That's what everyone says about him. All the time.

So yeah - he's obviously telling his coaches how to call the game.

He came out the 2nd half read tje defense perfectly and carved the Texans up just as he has done to every other team this season that's tried to blitz him.

Also you guys want to put the last loss to the Ravens on CEH, go back and watch the tape. Lamar punished Spags for blitzing him. I know I know it wasn't Spags blitzing it was Sorenson, Nieman, amd the likes.
If Jackson is such an advanced processor in command of the offense, why isn't he adjusting to that on the fly? Checking to a different play? Telling a receiver to run a hot? Or after a drive? Why is that a halftime conversation? If you want to use an example of how in control he is, I don't that is the example you're looking for.

And, I don't think this thread in general is saying Lamar is dumb and that's his downfall, or that he's dumb and therefore can't handle the blitz. Maybe some early on or in one of the other threads on this board, but the topic recently has MOSTLY been about him being a dynamic playmaker you have to try to get to play within a few confines.

Finally, regarding blitzing. When talking about Jackson's ability to handle the blitz, referencing what he did two years ago in one game is meaningless to both sides of the discussion.

Yeah, once you get to the point of explaining the difference between "blaming" the Ravens for playing a shitty team last week and whether we should use it as any kind of barometer for this week..... it's either trolling or room temp IQ.

I'm fairly certain that IowaHawkeyeChief knows that Lamar can read defense. He pretty much said as much when he said wonderlic smarts ain't football smarts (or something to that effect).

Geez, are all these Ravens fans going to be this dumb? if so, this is going to be very boring.

I'll try it once more. The gameplan going in was to test the Texans secondary because they have a weak secondary. They didn't expect Ryans to send, not just the kitchen sink, but the house on literally every single play ( they blitzed 75% of the time Saturday). They went into half and made adjustments just as they have done every single game this season. Lamar was apart of the adjustment conversation just as Mahomes is for the Chiefs. He said they couldn't continue to call long developing plays because they were sending more rushers then the had blockers. It wasn't that coaches didn't see I mean Steve Winder and Ray Charles saw it. My point is the stupid guy with the low wonderlic that can't read defenses knew just enough to know they needed to go to shorter passes and didn't need someone to hold his hand to figure it out.

Your point seems to be that stupid guy (because man alive is he stupid) needed to hold his OC's hand to help HIM figure it out.

Think Andy Reid ever needed Jamaal Charles to tell him "Hey coach, they have 8 in the box - maybe do somethin' different..."?

I suspect not.

Nor did, I expect, your OC. But good for you on taking a different approach to the standard "Seriously guys, Lamar isn't stupid" thing. Saying he's smarter than his OC isn't one I've seen before. Points for novelty.

Marino was dumb too. Sometimes it doesn't matter. And with Lamar I don't think it will unless they get down by > 2 scores... They're not asking him to be Peyton Manning. He's like Adrian Peterson as a QB. And their defense is good enough that I'd be surprised if that actually happened. It's going to be a close game and it's going to come down to who makes the mistake.
