It transcends all sports. They hated the Celtics of the 80s and the Bulls of the 90s. They hated the Red Wings of the 90s too.

Appreciate true greatness even when it isn't your team. MJ was special with a coach as good as he was. The Red Wings of the 90s and early 2000s were one of the greatest hockey teams ever assembled with one of the greatest coaches to ever do it.

Some things you may never see the likes of again, so enjoy it for what it is. I'll never see the Russian 5 light up the net and blaze across the ice again in a lifetime. I'll never see another MJ fadeaway to seal the deal yet again. I'll never see Tom Brady methodically carve up any and all defenses with 1000 paper cuts to get gritty wins. And we will likely never see another QB quite like Mahomes, making magical off-platform throws.
I wouldn't hate the three-headed monster of Brady, Manning and Roethlisberger so much if they hadn't played in the AFC. The difference here isn't their overall success, but rather how often the Chiefs were the victims of it. For the better part of two decades these ****ers were the only quarterbacks to play in the championship game, outside of ONE time Flacco did it. The NFC hasn't had a dominant quarterback in nearly 30 years. Sure, I detested Aikman as much as the next guy, but that was more of a general Dallas thing. I never wished him dead or anything.

Most people didn't hate someone because of politics back then. People believed things but it wasn't a reason to not get along with them.

The problem now isn't even really politics it's just shitty people. People, of all kinds, giving themselves excuses to be shitty to other people.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I work on a large site probably 800 people. We have a couple fantasy leagues and theres almost always some good NFL talk. However with our super bowl birth people have taken a 180 on me. I talk to a die hard Cowboys fan almost daily and a Tampa Bay fan. They both had plenty to say while the Chiefs were struggling, nothing bad, just more of a welcome back to reality vibe. Now they are both very pissy at the site of me ( and my new chiefs shirt, hoodie or starter jacket daily).

The Chiefs are America’s team according to Bob Costas on a CNN report I just saw for the following reasons.

1 The Cowboys, America’s former team hasn’t won a Super Bowl since the mid 90s.
2 Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback
3 Taylor Swift’s romance with Travis Kelce
4 We have been to four of the last five Super Bowls

Gotta admit Swifties are making the Chiefs a Big Market draw and the national media hates it. I personally love it, those who despise it can eat shit and die.

Agreed. Even with Mahomes and Reid the Chiefs success was just seen by most as a little brother story to coast teams. Now the fact that the Chiefs have mezmarized a whole new generation with Mahomes and the Swifties its all being forced on them.

This is glorious. They were pandering before, laughing inside at you being a Chiefs fan, a desperate franchise. You should relish in their new found despair and wear that shit everyday.
