Even the legal stuff doesn't totally click for me. It's a longish list, but none of it is recent or any more ghastly than what other guys in the league have done. Probably the worst thing was harassing that parking attendant, unless I'm missing something major. Too bad for him that he can't summon enough charm as an interviewee to overcome all that.

EB's play calling was an abomination. He took a first year starter and had him drop back forty times a game. Howell went from throwing fifty yard bombs to Tyler Palko by week seventeen. He ruined the QB. He shouldn't ever get his old job back until he learns how to call running plays and not get rookie's annihilated.

Even with the legal stuff & poor interviewing skills, he probably would have done better in the current hiring cycle if the Redskins offense was 5th instead of 25th for the 2023 season. He needed to have a strong season, but the 2023 offense was pretty similar to 2022 season for Washington.

Pretty much this. EB did get Howell to play some good-to-great games, statistically. 7 or 8 games with a PR over 90, 6-7 games with a QBR over 50, with a couple in the 70 range. That's decent for a rookie QB.

But he also exposed him to a lot of abuse from pass-rushers. He tried to operate the Chiefs' offense; 70% passing vs. 30% rushing. And when it became obvious that he didn't have the QB/OL to be successful, he didn't adapt/modify his gameplans. That inability to self-evaluate and adjust is a big red flag to league owners/GMS.

Honestly, what's with Bienemy? I mean Arthur ****ing Smith landed an OC job before he did, and Arthur Smith had no idea how to use Bijan Robinson.

I watched a lot of Redskin games this season, and anybody who did would tell you that the Oline ruined their season. EB had them playing decent early, but there was line attrition and THEN the team went into tank mode in hopes of getting Caleb. It was an impossible situation, one, albeit, he chose...

Yes, he passed the ball...but its 2024...and its the NFL...

I wonder where he ends up, it would be tough to sit out a year... I doubt he comes back here, unless it's some hybrid role they invent.

Turns out EB came in and met with the players before the AFC title game.

The relatively late timing of EB’s firing hurt him.

Arthur Smith was fired immediately after the regular season ended so he was available when more jobs were open.

100% Agreed. Timing kind of screwed EB on this cycle, Washington waiting for Ben Johnson who determined he wasn't interested after the Lions lost kinda started his window of availability towards the later part of the coordinator carousel.

Personally, I hope he comes back and takes over Connor Embree's job for a year before going to be a HC in the college ranks. (I think the constant coaching carousels have probably impacted him to consider going to the college ranks, but who knows)

If EB comes back as a position coach just make him the RB coach and move Pinkston over to WR, that makes more sense.

I'm good with that too. Leave it to Andy to put him where he wants if he comes back, throw him wherever. I just meant it as in I don't see them moving off of Nagy.
