****OFFICIAL Chiefs vs 49ers Super Bowl LVIII Game Thread****

Lombardi and Starr.

Noll and Bradshaw.

Walsh and Montana.

Johnson and Aikman.

Belichick and Brady.

Reid and Mahomes.

Today, the Kansas City Chiefs complete the greatest five-year run in NFL history by winning the third Super Bowl in the Patrick Mahomes era, and the fourth in the franchise's glorious history.

Today, we become an undeniable dynasty.

As someone once said...let's do this shit.

The Chiefs really used Pennell perfectly. No training camp. Good for about 7 games, was it? And did he ever thrive. I wasn’t real sure he’d be up to the task given his age.

Great signing.

The 49ers are bringing back all their key players in 2024.

I'm expecting another matchup with them down the line. Maybe even next season.

Eh we'll see. That's a top heavy roster, so they're always an injury away from their season being over. It's really difficult to maintain that level of success, especially without a generational QB.

What are the chances McCaffrey stays healthy for another season all the way through the playoffs? Deebo's body is breaking down. Kittle is always banged up. Trent Williams is old and always battling injuries. Greenlaw is probably going to be a non-factor most of next season. Aiyuk might not be there beyond next season.

We so sure about that? Take a look at their cap. It's ****ED. Top 8 on their roster account for NEARLY 200 MILLION, and kicking the can down the road isn't an answer either since they've already got 195 million on the books in 2025

Hot take: I think the Chiefs would have won comfortably if Pacheco didn't fumble. Everybody blames the playcalling in that first half but it was terrible execution.

First drive-opening run play. Missed block. Loss killed the drive.
Second drive-Andy calls a pass, Smith gets owned quickly by Chase. Drive killing sack.

That Hardman catch on 3rd drive ignited the offense, then Pacheco killed it with his fumble.

Then on the next drive Mahomes killed that drive with the bad intentional grounding penalty

That intentional grounding call was horseshit.

Noah Gray was clearly in the area. Purdy had a much more blatant grounding that should've actually been called.

Agree with everything else though.

They'll need some luck with injuries, which has been a problem for that Niner team through the years. They got lucky in 2023. Guess we'll see if that happens again for them in 2024. Obviously the Chiefs will need some injury luck as well.

Agreed. That fumble was huge. This version of the Chiefs takes a little more time to score using all the underneath stuff. Losing a chance at 3/7 was a huge factor in the game.

What a time to be a chiefs fan. Crazy game that was a perfect reflection of our entire season this year. I know you can't win them all, but until proven otherwise I am going to have unwavering faith in this team.
