How compliant to the law, in this case, complied with some of the provision, stopped his care at the scene but failed to render aid. so semi-compliant. second, how solid is the case, can they prove he was the operator because the law only applies to the vehicle's operator, third, was he cooperative after the fact, reached out with his lawyer and allegedly cooperating, 4th what is his previous record. not sure if he has any criminal record, if not, than this is a first offense and with the Chiefs he also probably has good oversight going forward, 5th what is his contribution to the community, I am thinking he probably has a charity set up, finally how severe was the damage, minor injuries and likely to be able to restitute for damage immediately. Finally willingness to negotiate a plea to save the state legal costs. Likely and reasonable result is a plea bargain to a level B Misdemeanor with a 5K fine, restitution to victims and either diversion or a 6 to 12 month probation.

He will no doubt get some sort of suspension.

But all the ‘up to 10 years in prison’ is dumb. He has money, a little fame, no priors, and there will be no proof he was under the influence. I would be veryyy surprised if after the coming court battle he ends up with a felony.

With all that said he is still a dumbass, and we can only hope it’s a learning experience.

Yeah, I don't understand why people think it's going to be a point of contention whether he was driving or not. He rented the thing. He signed a contract saying he'd be the only driver. And he was wearing a red durag, which isn't exactly going to be inconspicuous on one of the dozens of traffic cams they drove by. Unless he actually wasn't driving (which would open him up to being financially responsible for the entire cost of the lambo), it won't be hard to prove it was him.
