Yeah, I think it was more relevant a few years ago, but still does exist... teams would go for it on 4th down more often against the Chiefs, or the occasional onside kick surprise, etc. More and more teams are being aggressive with 4th and short though.

Yeah, and even the Bills going for it on 4th down instead of kicking the FG to go up by 5... those are extra downs other defenses aren't on the field for... they're so thoroughly broken, it's just an assumption their defense isn't stopping Mahomes from scoring a touchdown with 2 minutes left.
