Difference with 2023 is hat they had an elite unit. All our teams had something elite they could rely on

2018 had historic offense

2019 had explosive offense

2020 had a great offense

2021 had issues but the offense wound up being top tier overall

2022 had an elite offense

2023 had an elite defense

2024 has…the defense just isn’t elite as of now. The offense obviously isn’t elite either. I feel like you need something elite to win a SB. Our pass rush isn’t as good and it’s hurting us

Which team was more vulnerable
2023 because they had a lower offensive ceiling. This team can score more with a bit better line and QB play. All of these games (outside maybe Panthers) would look WAY different, comfortable wins even, if Mahomes just makes one or two more plays he should be making. Last year’s team just didn’t have that room for offensive improvement. Last year games were sloppy and close almost by necessity. This season it’s a lot more about what we are doing (and doing wrong) not what we aren’t capable of doing.

I’m losing confidence in the secondary gelling and unlike the OL there’s no calvary coming. We might need vintage “13 seconds” Mahomes and I’m not sure we’ve seen the offense operate at that level since Super Bowl 57.

also this team was decimated by injuries and has the upside of slowly adding all those guys back for the stretch run. this team fully healthy absolutely has a better roster than last year. watson in for sneed is a downgrade but hopkins, worthy, and brown all in for moore, toney, and whatever other butt**** receiver we had last year more than makes up for it. lets hope brown is in playoff shape when the time comes.

Everyone has mentioned it already, but 2023 had an elite defense to offset the offense. This team currently is winning, but it’s always close. Mahomes has the yips and the LT position is bad at the moment.

I'm going to say 2024; last year a lot of the Chiefs problems were caused by dropped passes and tipped passes for interceptions. This year, the defense isn't looking near the same and both lines are struggling bigly.

It's pretty much an impossible question right now... new LT on the way, defensive line help, Pacheco just got back this week, will still see Hollywood Brown.

Maybe this team right now is worse, but I feel like we're comparing the SB winning 2023 team with where we're at right no, which isn't exactly fair on both ends... that team didn't look amazing mid-season and this one will change significantly in terms of personnel.

RT isn't very good either. And the "elite" guys up the middle aren't doing a very good job in the run game at the moment. Need the OL to play at a much higher level in both run-blocking and pass-blocking.

i think this team looked much worse mid season last year. we lose half of these one score games last season

RT isn't going to be the problem it was today most games, and if you can just get some steady play at LT, it will be fine.

Should know more if we get to see Humphries next week. Feels like the season hinges on whether they just get decent LT play. Mahomes will be better than he was today.
