Someone explain that 3 and 2 bomb?

Chiefs didnt need points in that scenario...they needed 2 yards and a first down. Not only that, an incompletion stops the clock.

Two plays to get 2 yards with a fresh Hunt and the game is over...but they went for a low percentage play for no reason. One they have repeatedly missed on for the past few months..

That is, by far, the worst play call of the past few years. It's not a mistake a championship team makes... mind-numbingly stupid from every angle.

Choices of running it and probably be short and going for it on 4th, spreading it out and throw for it knowing we have protection issues or play action and take a shot. Play action not a bad choice.

The play call was not bad. We’ve been burned a few times on the same play in similar situations. The execution sucked!

The play on it's own isnt bad...the play in that situation is criminally negligent.

If they were up 7 in the third quarter...but not when the game is two yards from being over.

The clock stopped at 2:03. If it was complete the clock stops at 2:00 with a 1st down game over. If they got stuffed on a run the clock stops with a while 3 seconds less than what it was.

So again, the clock is completely irrelevant to your argument against passing.

Minus a 34 yard run that wasn't an obvious run situation, the chiefs rbs had 13 carries for 25 yards. Which by my calculations is less than 2 yards per run. Factor in the obviousness of a run and I'm not convinced we get 2 yards on 3rd down. Maybe on 4th down, but again, we've seen the chiefs stuff obvious runs short of 1st fown.

Disclaimer; I could be thinking of a different play.
With it being so close to the two minute warning, it was inconsequential that there was an incomplete pass there because the clock’s gonna stop after the punt anyhow regardless of the two minute warning and the punt would take at least two seconds now had there been another 15 seconds in front of the two minute warning upon the in completion that would’ve sucked so considering that they were so close to the two minute warning I don’t mind the call

It is amazing how many ****ing geniuses we have here that know more about football than the #4 winningest coach in NFL history. You should all apply for jobs as OC.

QB getting hit all game bc OL can’t pass protect so you call a long developing play?

If that was a shorter route it would have been much better. Mahomes got hit on that play which affected the pass

I can think Andy Reid is the greatest coach of all time and yet think he had a clear brain fart when he wasted a timeout with our punt team on the field only to decide to punt it anyway.

Even another Top 5 Coach like Belichick can decide to have his 18-0 Patriots go for it on 4th and 13 rather than try a 48 yard field goal with Gostkowski in a Super Bowl upset he’d ultimately lose by 3 points. These brilliant, sleep deprived guys who live and breathe football are ultimately fallible in the heat of the moment.

Dude..that play call almost cost KC the game. The resulting drama that insued speaks for itself. I know Reid's credentials as a HC...it would be just as dumb if a HS coach called it.

No one is immune from criticism...especially when it's warranted.

Raiders make that kick and this thread has 10 times the responses.

There was a bit of hubris in that unnecessary play call...and the arrogance almost bit them. Maybe they wanted to humiliate them for last year's Christmas game.

I just watched his presser, that wasn’t quite it. The playcall was the deep shot but he had the choice to check out of it, he opted to stick with the play when he saw how the Raiders were covering it.
