I don't think anyone doubts that, once upon a time, he would have been a SIGNIFICANT upgrade over what we have at LT. The question is how good he is after recovering from an ACL, at age 30, having not played football in 11 months.

Don't get me wrong, I hope he plays and plays well. I'd just like to see some on-the-field evidence that he's in playing shape before I start calling our LT woes fixed.

would agree with most of this. I will say though that OTs can generally play at the top of their games into their mid-30s, so being 30 as an OT isn't/shouldn't be that big of a deal.

The more concerning thing is the back injury that knocks him out for half of 2022. Back injuries are really bad on these big guys.

Sure, I get that. He probably will be winded late in the game.


But he has natural hands, balance and has played the position at a high level for a decade. I expect much better than Wanya.

I suspect it's on DJ. Gotta get a couple more padded practices in to see how he's moving laterally and make sure he can handle some ramped up activity, but I think if DJ gives a thumbs up, Andy's gonna put him in there.

I have no doubt DJ is starting!!!! I bet the Chiefs had DJ all set to sign and gave him a playbook just waiting for him to be cleared.

Thuneys set up is kind of funny. He's kind of lined up in a guard stance just turned to the outside. He would have likely done better on those first two plays if he had his leg set to kick like most tackles do. But I understand that probably feels unnatural to him.
