And to be fair to Tomlin there's a pretty significant chunk on that list that probably would've flamed out of the league before ever accomplishing anything of note if they went to other organizations.

Sure but the line is blurred because most of those guys damaged their team in season. So by the time they're cut the damage is already done. AB and leveon were huge distractions towards the end. bryant suspension was an unexpected curveball. Claypool was notoriously making lazy costly plays. it's a fine line because he gets more out of them but also gets less out of them at the same time.

Why are we blaming Tomlin for a star RB holdout?

And why are we blaming him for their WRs being headcases? He is the head coach. The Steelers have a GM. Do any of us truly know how much input Tomlin has in the pre-draft scouting process to be making this determination? I don’t think we do.

Are you reeruned? I assume you're a Steelers fan so that might be a given but you should also be aware of history.

He hasn't actually proven much in his career other than he could be really good. He 100% has to "work" his way onto the field with a new team and its clear he wasn't doing what he needed to do.

There's two interesting tales here. On the one hand, it is pretty shitty for him to get this kind of usage during a contract year. If they didn't intend to use him, then why trade for him? Best career move for him would have been to continue to produce big for a bad team. This isn't a dhop situation where the dude was fed up with the QB play. At the same time diontae is obviously handling this like a 5 year old after acting like a child in Pittsburgh. The funny thing is he was actually a pretty good soldier for a shitty team in carolina and at the time looked like he was getting his act together.
