Let's talk about the Browns

Hopefully Jameis Winston is in the giving mood. I mean giving the ball to our defense.

Winston can sling the ball, he also is very susceptible to pick 6's. I think the Chiefs get a pick 6 this game.

Toney is a great example of intelligence not equaling wisdom or sense.

I think Jameis is kind of the same way. I don’t think he’s DUMB. He just kind of has no sense.

So I'm gonna make the assumption that even if D.J. is relatively OK, he probably doesn't play this week.

Just win the damn thing and keep the core guys healthy, please

Yes he was silly towards the end of his time in KC and couldn't stay healthy. But his role in winning us the second ring in this dynasty should never be forgotten imo.
He was absolutely instrumental in helping KC win the SB vs the Eagles. The longest punt return in SB history along with a TD catch. He was everything we hoped for when traded (although he was injured a lot).

Don’t know if there is anything else going on with him, but that pick-6 that he caused in an opening night loss to Detroit seemed to spell the end for him. He was never the same player after that. It was his offsides against Buffalo that ended his career here.

When was the last pick 6 this defense had?

I believe we had one defensive TD this season, which was Connor picking up Burrow's fumble in week 2.

We had at least one defensive TD last year when Tyreek fumbled it in Germany. Willie Gay had a pick 6 but that was probably the season before.

I think game has the make of an 18-14 slugfest.

The Chiefs are way better than this team, but they're probably going to want to keep their powder dry for the Texans game. If they win the Texans game, they likely have the 1 seed. All they need to do is survive the Browns.

Which, they'd probably have to do anyway. The Browns defensive front is missing Smith, but they've got Dalvin Tomlinson, Shelby Harris, and of course Myles Garrett. They're going to put crazy amounts of heat on Mahomes all day.

On the other side of the ball, the Browns have a pretty good OL. If they're smart, they'll give the ball to Jerome Ford, but they're insisting on Chubb too much right now. Either way, it'll all be on Jameis. And while the Browns don't have world beaters across their WR corps, the Chiefs secondary is still such a mess right now that there should be enough guys out there for Jameis to find.

Somehow, however, Spags will outscheme Ken Dorsey so thoroughly that we'll limit them to 14 points, because Spags is a magician.

So long as Reid/Mahomes can clear 20 points, they've got this game in the bag. It's going to be a physical road there. Will be interesting to see if we get out of this game healthy.

Browns have become an average running offense. Would be criminal to rely on the run against an elite defense like kc when we’ve been a bit of a pass funnel on offense.

So, you'd have Winston throw it 40+ times? Sounds like a sure recipe for disaster, imo. CLE has to run it close to 50% of the time just to keep the ball out of Jameis' hands. He's one of those QBs that needs to be on a pretty tight leash, if possible. In fact, the one game he's won he only threw it 27 times. Every game he's thrown more than 30 times he's lost.

The browns run offense is not very good. Even with Chubb back. An average run offense against a really good run defense isnt ideal. Maybe they can just hope their defense can keep us to under 14. But it seems their best chance is to hope jameis has one of those 1 in 3 games where he goes berzerk out of nowhere.

It isn’t an ideal choice but hey, it’s why I keep saying we’re overrating them. They either have to run into the teeth of our defense or chuck the ball downfield with a 50/50 qb.
