I think Favre's response is gentlemanly and kind.

I shot a commercial with Favre in 2002. He was a good guy and pro on the set as on the field.

He did eat too much chips and extra hot salsa at the craft services table and couldn't say his lines for about 15 minutes. Other than that he was great.

This also suggests that none of Mark’s sacks were from a similar slide to avoid a hit situation. Don’t get me wrong, I thought it was BS when I watched it happen, but to get worked up this many years later? Meh. And no, he did not get owned. I do feel sad for Mark, appears he is dealing with some issues due to game.

Lol, yeah, I can just see it now. "Hey Brett, we're going to have you naked bootleg right into Strahan, who we're not going to block just because. Try not to get killed."

Sound about right, lol.

He'll never be as cool as Kevin Butler...

Sure, Strahan really busted him up on that 'sack'.
Right, except Favre changed the play and didn't tell anyone about it. The he moved right into the path of an untouched Strahan.

Lol, obviously a GAstineau fan. You see these kinds of 'analyses' all over YT about just about every great player or whatever. It's like all the "leBron is the GOAT not MJ" stuff.

Well, from another angle, if Strahan hadn't broken it, Justin Houston would've tied it in the 2014 season. And that would've been as special for the Chiefs as a season where we didn't have a single WR catch a touchdown pass.

Oh, that was also 2014. Only year under Reid we didn't make the postseason. Weird one.

Lol, hey have at it. Not going to try and convince you otherwise about something you obviously have feelings about. When I saw it in rt, it just looked like a busted play, and Favre had to go down or take a hit. But if it makes you feel better to think Favre 'gifted' Strahan with a sack, knock yourself out.

Yep, looking at it now with older eyes and hearing Favres explanation... wtf else was he supposed to do there?

I thought Favre gifted the sack and I don't care. I never liked Gastineau and that video only lowered my opinion of him. Almost all records are eventually broken. Have some class when it happens. Johnny Bench's message to Salvador Perez when Salvy broke the HR record for catchers comes to mind.

Favre is a lying piece of shit.

Neither of those clips show Favre, after the previous play, walking back to the Packers huddle, having a brief chat with Strahan, letting Strahan know he was going to run right and lay down.
This was huge controversy at the time. The sack came at midfield on 1st and 10 and the packers up 9, with under 3 minutes to play. The giants had no TO’s left. The Packers could have knelt down 3 times and brought the clock under a minute. The game was essentially over and this was the only chance they had to pull it off or it would have raised many more eyebrows.
