18-20 team conferences are too big. Not a fan.

Yeah, you'll end up with the same number of highly ranked teams at the top of the conference, but a lot of mediocrity and shit at the bottom... and then you'll have teams like Indiana that can make it all season without beating anyone and only playing one ranked team.

It's pretty strange what they've done to the sport in such a short time... it took decades to even get a 4 team "playoff" and now there's 12 and the transfer portal on top of that and mega conferences all in a very short time.

It might eventually be as watered down as the NFL.

The top programs will still be the only teams that can win a National Championship. It's simply not possible for most teams regardless of the format and NIL. 1998 K-State says hi.

I get why they want conference champions to be the automatic qualifiers as it makes those championship games really mean something but if it was seeded right it would make the tournament flow better.

#12 Clemson at #5 Notre Dame
#9 Boise State at #8 Indiana
#10 SMU at #7 Tennessee
#11 Arizona State at #6 Ohio State
