Not really watching at this point, but in general I think as long as you're moving the ball and stopping the clock, might as well go for the touchdown first.

Scratch that, throw a touchdown pass immediately.

Had they kicked as I recommended, they would’ve been down 7 with about 2:30 and three timeouts left.

Yeah, so pretend you get an onside kick to make the math easy on how much time you have left... so, you have an extra minute twenty than you do now, but you need a touchdown.

Where were they on the field when you said that?

Just pointing out if they got the ball back even now, they'd only have to get to the ~40 for a long FG... to a large extent you're just deferring the extra time needed for a touchdown, outside of ****ing around and wasting time, of course (which for a 3-win team, they're probably doing no matter what).
