There’s a lot you can blame Ballard for, but when he picked Nelson, he believed he had Andrew Luck locked down for the next decade and was drafting a surefire protector for his franchise quarterback. He, like the rest of the NFL (and even Andrew Luck, if you believe him), had zero way of knowing Luck was entering his final year.
