Let's Talk About the Eagles (Super Bowl 59 Discussion)

We're headed back to the Ship and will try to be the first team to 3-peat in Super Bowl history!!! Chiefs open up as 1.5 favorites over the Eagles.

Discuss.

Eagles are the home team, right?

Between me wearing my lucky shirt - the one that's helped push us to 17 wins so far this season - and us being in the white jerseys we beat the Eagles in last time, I see no realistic path to victory for Philly.

Hurts has more weapons than Allen. Better WRs, RB, TE. And their defense is better.

Every Super Bowl we've played in, that was the toughest game of those playoffs. I expect no different. And yes, half the posters here will predict a blowout as usual, but that's not how we win. We've trailed by at least 10 points in all of our SB appearances. I hope the boys get out to a good start for once offensively in this game. Make the Eagles more one dimensional and force Hurts to make mistakes.

Aren't the Chiefs due for a dominant game in the SB?

I have watched alot of Eagles games this year and they are very meh. Rams should have beat them in the divisional round and got lucky Detroit lost. Hurts barely throws the ball so it is all about stopping Saquon.

I think KC wins but we couldn't stop the run for a long part of the game tonight. Barkley scares the shit out of me.

And the Eagles defense is legit.

Hurts isn't Allen, but the Eagles can gain edges on teams because they're unstoppable in short yardage. You just can't let them get in 3rd and short. Their offense is probably more efficient than they should be because of it.

Interesting thing is the Eagles DC this time is Fangio. We definitely know him well and he knows us. The Eagles were 2nd in defensive points and 1st in yards. Their defense can play.

Well the Bills have Josh Allen so you have to defend him first. Much like how he defends Lamar Spags is going to force Hurts to throw the ball.

I thought it was NBC's turn to do the SB. They last did one in 2021. FOX in 2022 and CBS last year in 2023.

Absolutely. I think the game plan become very different. But Barkley has the ability to win a game himself.

He just wont do it in 2 weeks.

We can actually focus on Saquon though. Hurts can't throw, and he's banged up, so not the running threat he normally is either.

Totally different matchup.
