Let's Talk About the Eagles (Super Bowl 59 Discussion)

We're headed back to the Ship and will try to be the first team to 3-peat in Super Bowl history!!! Chiefs open up as 1.5 favorites over the Eagles.

Discuss.

That seems ... well, like one idea. Doomed to failure. 6-0/198 isn't going to get it done against Kelce.

I'd love to see it.

You still plan on them being 100% healthy and then adjust from there.

I always thought Kittle was pretty injured in Super Bowl 58 (according to Niners talk radio he reaggravated his injury diving for the McCaffrey fumble), I felt like we adjusted our defense to that as the game went on.

Deebo pulled his hamstring in that game too. Being a speed guy and going into that game with a hamstring issue is definitely not ideal. If it's obvious early that Smith isn't right then it might allow Spags to be more aggressive stopping the run.

I think this is it. He was an average at best qb in college and nfl so he doesn't understand how a qb can elevate and carry a team to victory like mahomes can.

Eagles should put their smallest DB on Kelce and the slowest DB on Worthy.

Call it the Reverse Psychology Defense.

It completely changes the passing game if he's not 100% right imo as he's been their best WR the last three games we've played them.
Curious if they have him listed that as more of a precaution to prevent a possible reaggravation before the SB and he is healthier than we think.

Other tidbits from lurking on Eagles fan sites.

1. They expect Andy to attack CJ Gardner Johnson. Seems like he’s a latter years Atwater type where he’ll land a highlight reel hit and then get roasted repeatedly until landing another. Most fans still have a lot of respect for Andy and his gameplanning.

2. There will be broken TV’s across Philly if the Chiefs successfully land corndog again. The fear is palpable. They are more confident in their corners and Fangio’s scheme to counter it than in the 2022 season.

3. Surprisingly, most of the fans on Reddit now acknowledge that Bradberry held, and blame Gannon for putting them in that position.

4. With that said, they’re all giving themselves a future out that “the refs!” could keep this close and swing it to T-Swift’s team.

5. They’re terrified of their special teams costing them big in this game. On that note, they still HATE Kadarius Toney, and HATE that he was the X-factor in 57.

6. They believe the entire national media is riding with the Chiefs.

7. They believe their defense is vastly improved from Super Bowl 57. Yet, they also blame the field in Super Bowl 57 for neutralizing their D, without any thought that it could have neutralized ours.

8. They think the Chiefs D is weak vs 11 personnel. Barkley apparently has 7 YPC from this formation. They, like most commentators pulling for Philly, think Barkley and their physicality in the trenches will get them the W.

9. AJ Brown is apparently now healthier than he was during the regular season. But they have been really quiet about their passing game in comparison to the run.

10. And as stated above, they are worried about how they’ll matchup with Kelce. They’re hopeful Fangio has a plan, but would prefer to force the Chiefs to have long, grind it out drives where they can force a mistake rather than risk home runs by giving Kelce too much attention.

Very little about the success of Jones and the Chiefs D, other than admiration for Spags.
