Is it time to retire the yellow in our color scheme?

1. It’s not even in our official logo.

2. Let’s face it, yellow is not a great color on clothing.

3. It gives off McDonald’s vibes when combined with the red.

4. It’s only used as trim so I feel like we could easily cut it out.

What do you think?

As much as it does give McDonald’s vibe let’s be real. Without it our uniforms become the same shit as the millions of teams that wear red. If we become red we become a brighter 49ers. This is a really distinguishing mark. For merch I tend to get stuff without the yellow. But I’m glad it’s in the color scheme

I hear you but I disagree.

We’re the only team whose primary color is blood red. The Skins and 9ers are both closer to burgundy or maroon. Coincidentally, they’re both feature yellow or gold as their secondary color as well so if anything, we might distance ourselves from them by dropping the yellow altogether.

We trying to rip off the Arizona Cardinals look? Or keep an absolute NFL classic?

Should the Yankees get rid of their pinstripes? Should the Red Wings add yellow to their unis? Should the Dodgers add pinstripes?

Some teams have an absolutely classic uniform scheme. Those are worth keeping. Chasing the latest fashion trend ain't for the Chiefs.

Every shitty team without a real history or identity has a black alternate. Some pencil-pushing jackass in a board room thinks it looks like a cool design so they get some focus groups and shit and ask the average person if they like black, and because it tests favorably with the average person they go to their shitty CEO/owner/whatever and say, "We have some reports here that say a black alternate is an exciting color and choice and could sell well as a jersey" and the shitty CEO/owner/whatever thinks "Cha-ching!"

In the early 2000s UPN had an animated cartoon of Dilbert that was pretty funny. In one of the episodes, the boss asks Dilbert to create some art so they can sell it. Dilbert basically goes into MS paint, draws a duck, and fills it in with the blue paint can. Everybody falls in love with the image and it's all of a sudden seen everywhere because it's so unobjectionable that it gets confused for mass appeal.

Anyway, that's what adding a black alternate uniform or changing your color scheme to include black is like. It's the blue duck. You want black in your uniform! Congratulations! You're mediocre!

I don't love yellow as a color, but it's our look. Funny that some of you see red and yellow and think McDonald's. I see red and yellow and think Chiefs.

People calling for black alternates need to be neutered. It's lazy and boring and we don't need more of you walking around giving your boring and uncreative opinions. Same goes for gray. White is only acceptable because it is grandfathered in as the default "away" color. It's boring too. Give me color.

Besides, Clark has been pretty clear from what I've seen that he's keeping as much of the team aesthetic the same as his father left it as he can.

With the advent of the color rush and jersey sales being what they are, I don’t see it happening. I envision an all yellow color rush jersey soon.

I don't think they should get rid of it but it shouldn't be a solid color, just used for edging/highlights/outlines.

I wouldn't mind if they changed the finish on it. A high gloss metallic gold highlight on the uniforms could really pop when it catches the light. Not a dull copper like the Niners have but a shiny brass color. They have matte helmets now, surely they can make high gloss trim on jerseys.

Pretty much the only Chiefs merchandise I will buy with yellow on it is a jersey. Any hoodie or t-shirt, etc, at this point has to have zero yellow or I'm not interested.

I don't mind it on the player uniforms because it's such a minor accent, but they would look 5% better if yellow was eliminated completely. And the bigger value would be no more splashy use of yellow in Chiefs merchandise. Embrace the sea of red.
