Been thinking about this a lot. Man…I really think WR is a big need. We could go into week 1 with Worthy, Hollywood and Juju as our top 3 WR’s.

I get Rice is coming back but we don’t know how he’s gonna be at first coming back from that injury and Hollywood hasn’t played a
16 games in a season since 2021, so based on his history he’s gonna miss time.
Juju is also a slower version than 2022 that doesn’t have the juice.

It’s a much bigger problem than people give it credit for IMO

Completely agree. I think you have to bring in another Wideout, either in the draft of a dependable vet (i'm not on Diggs train).

If it’s BPA, you take WR.

That’s where they’re at. Whether it’s small trade up which we are prone to do or getting lucky at 31, any player with a first round grade, and the highest one if there are multiple… they should take that player.

Get as many blue chips as you can. We’ll need them now and certainly into the future.

If Veach and Andy stay disciplined, just take the best players, no matter what positions that ends up being you can then leverage those position groups into massive strengths now

It’s a RB at 31? Offense can be lethal now with overwhelming explosiveness at the skill positions

It’s a DL or two? Now Spags is 7-8 deep and can rotate those guys through in a way that makes the defense great in the front seven

It’s a WR? Short and long term, no one can cover your top trio

Just give Spags and Andy the best possible ingredients and let them take care of the rest

It's not gonna be RB, but they need to get some cheap under the radar guys to develop at WR before we go throwing another first rounder at it.

If Egbuka fell, sure but even then, the defensive Line needs some TLC.

There's just so little utility in RB in the 1st at this point.

I mean if you have an elite RB he costs between $16-20 million on the FA market.

Meanwhile if you have an elite DE, DT, CB or WR you're looking at $25 millionish (or far more).

The upside just isn't there. The benefit of a RB on a rookie deal is so much less than any position apart from maybe C or G that I just don't understand how anyone can like the idea at this point.

It's just really poor asset management. Especially when you're going to have RBs in the 3rd and 4th round that are potential NFL starting RBs in their own right.

Burden would be an interesting question as well.

If he or Egbuka are there at 31....phew, I'd be awfully reluctant to pass on them regardless of how badly I want help at DL.

They're talking that Burden is Deebo 2.0 and while that would be fun to have, would you say he's gonna have to develop more at WR to be worth that pick?

I think the only one I'd take at 31 is Egbuka...good character, good route runner, ready to contribute as a rookie. It would be hard to pass on Grant and Harmon there if one should drop. Deep DL class, but a few had "character issues", and a few had stamina concerns. If a run stopper and pass rusher, high motor guy s at 31, please take him!

As a Mizzou fan, Burden's consistent dings concern me. Seems like he played more half-games than full games and came out WAY too many times for a player of decent size. High risk-high reward...the opposite of Egbuka from what I've seen.

I think the writing is on the wall that they are going to take a running back. I saw that they met with cam sakttebo at the combine... which did not excite me. While he would be a fan favorite.... I just want a that type of running back.

He's reckless.

He exposes himself to WAY too much contact.

Frankly, it's a miracle he wasn't hurt more than he was. It's not a durability issue with him, IMO -- it's play style. That guy gets himself killed (and Cook doesn't do him any favors).

I think his body is more than capable of holding up if he'd just stop subjecting himself to so damn much punishment.
