All Things Video Games/Game Reviews Part II

Hey all, you know the deal...
The other thread hit over 1,000 posts and we have server issues when that shit happens so here she be, a fancy new mega thread.

Anyway, just a quick rundown.

Post anything and everything gaming in here. Console games, handheld/mobile games or PC.

Playing something you love or maybe hate? Find a hidden gem on Steam? Let us know via a review. Try to make sure you give a good rundown on it. Graphics, sound, storyline, overall gameplay and replayability. Let's keep it at a 1-10 scale.

Thanks to all that left me awesome rep comments/posts and even pm's thanking me for the many reviews I wrote.
Just an FYI, developers do read our comments in here I guess. CD Projekt Red (of Witcher 3) was one that stopped by.

Anyway, thanks all for your input and as always, no griefing.

Not sure if I posted about it but I got Madden 25 on sale for like $13 a couple months back.

This is my first Madden since 2020 with Mahomes so I’m having some fun with it.. wouldn’t say it’s a good game, though. Still tons of shit they’re not doing, not doing well, etc.

I played a little bit of Deep Rock Galactic because it was a free game for PS+ and it was well done. It's not really my thing but you could tell they put some effort into the game. I would probaby check that out if it comes to PS5

Picked up ASKA off of Steam. Going to play that with the misses after we finish Aloft. Has anyone given it a shot yet? It's a Viking survival/craft/management game in early access.

Playing Doom: The Dark Ages tonight, and had a nice fuzzy blast of nostalgia.

I've been playing FPS games since pretty much the beginning. My first experiences were Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake, etc. When these games were originally released, they by default had the movement buttons configured to use ESDF keys as opposed to using WASD keys that are the gaming standard now. For me, I never gave up that old ESDF config, and still use that to this day. It's a PIA because every game I play a game the first thing I have to do is switch the controls from WASD to ESDF and invert the vertical axis. When I tell younger people I use ESDF keys, they look at me like I'm straight reeruned.

Enter Doom: TDA. id has a complete keyboard and mouse preset that switches to the old school ESDF config.

Long live boomer shooters...

I downloaded the beta Steam client for ChromeOS and found that a couple of my all-time faves - Rome:Total Ware and Total War: Medieval II will run on Linux (ChromeOS is Linux-based). Not only that but Steam honored the CD keys that came with the physical Windows copies I bought 2 decades ago so they didn't cost me anything extra.
