He has had SO many horrible at bats. Continues to chase sliders and has been behind on fastballs grooved down the middle.

Don't know about that one but he needs to heat up Quik. I think everyone thinks when the heat and humidity Salvy will get hot. If not might be about done.

He has always chased sliders, but he used to make pitchers pay when they threw him a fastball. That is part of getting older. He definitely needs to rest some. Fermin catching, Pasquatch and Vinnie switching at 1st and DH. Maybe DH Salvy vs lefties.

If it continues, that's the opening for Cags - DH, 1B when Vinnie DH's and some OF. Salvy might just be at the stage where he needs to sit when he's not catching.

I know it's just almost the end of May, but unless Sal goes on an incredible tear, I think the Royals will need to decline his 2026 contract since they have a club option that includes a $2M buyout. Not sure if they can justify saying $13 million is worth it for a declining player, who is currently (05/21/2025) WAR'ing -1.2 and an OPS+ of 59, both way below the norms of his average.

I guess the question is, does a guy like him sell more tickets than winning?

I doubt it. Bobby Witt sell more tickets than Sal does at this point, both as a franchise player and production stand points.
